The war going on in Ukraine as I write this review makes me appreciate the value of men like Dr. Ghoulem Berrah. The decolonization of Africa, racial discrimination, and conflict resolution are some of the major themes reflected in this non-fiction named A Dream For Peace written by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah. This masterpiece tells the story of the author's life. He started his life in an obscure village in Algeria. He grew up when Algeria was being colonized by France. Many Algerians were fighting for the decolonization of their country. Ghoulem joined the struggle for the decolonization of his country. In fact, he was so enthusiastic about Algeria's struggle for independence that he was arrested and sent to prison for his activism.

He was a brilliant student and was granted a scholarship to study medicine in France. At the university in France, he was heavily involved in activism. He experienced a lot of discrimination at the university. Because of the discrimination, he created a student organisation for African students. He finally completed his studies at the University of Indiana. He became a diplomat. The pinnacle of his career was when he worked as a special adviser to the president of Ivory Coast. He was married three times even though he fell in love once.

A positive attribute of this book is that it preaches love and tolerance. There is so much hatred, violence, and discrimination in present-day society. The world needs more books like A Dream For Peace that teach love and tolerance. In my opinion, this is reflected profoundly in the book through the personal life of Ghoulem as expressed in the autobiography. Ghoulem was a Muslim, but he married a Christian and lived peacefully with her for more than two decades. This is a great illustration of love and tolerance.

Another reason I like this autobiography is that it serves as a source of accurate historical information for Africans about the colonization and decolonization of the continent. It also serves as a great source of accurate information about world history, especially for events that occurred in the 20th century. This can be seen throughout the text. On page 102 of this publication, we are told of the escape of the Dalai Lama and the diplomatic activities that took place after the escape. This book is exceptionally edited because I did not find any errors in it.

This book has 644 pages. In my opinion, the autobiography is lengthy. A lot of readers might find the text tedious to read because of its length. This is the only aspect of the book that I did not like.

This publication artfully expresses the inspiring story of a great man. The events that occurred in his lifetime are expertly written so that the audience can fully appreciate the story. In my opinion, the long length of the text is insignificant. Considering the above-stated, I rate this text 4 out of 4 stars.

This autobiography will be a satisfying read for historians. Every African is encouraged to read this book. People that desire to establish a career in international relations are encouraged to read this text.
