Review of Manifesto for a Cancer Patient
Manifesto for a Cancer Patient by Colleen Huber NMD is an eye opener for all involved with allopathic medicine. Allopathy is a part and parcel of our daily lives, and we have given this form of medicine almost as much importance as the oxygen we breathe in. This book completely transforms one's prejudices against natural medicine in general, and as a cure for cancer in particular. The case histories and clinical trials of the
379 patients presents astounding results in comparison to the mainstay of today's oncology therapies, namely radiation, surgery, and chemotherapy.
The author has presented a three-pronged strategy against cancer followed by
' Naturopathic Medical Doctors '. Firstly, a dietary component wherein glucose is eliminated almost completely from the diet, as are most of the carbohydrates. Secondly, an I.V. component is extensively used mainly comprising of high dose Vitamin C infused on a regular basis, thrice a week. Some other natural substances are also added, the most important being the fat-soluble Vitamins A and D. The third important pillar of Naturopathic medicine is exercise. A minimum of 150 minutes of exercise is recommended per week. All Health Care professionals can readily appreciate the benefits advocated by Dr. Colleen Huber in favor of Naturopathic medicine as a cure for cancer.
Dr. Huber has showcased real cases, strongly referenced leaving no room for any arguments to the contrary. She has skillfully advocated the case for Naturopathic cancer treatment, to the detriment of established oncology practices. By taking the pharmaceutical industry head-on, she has shown a lot of courage. Those of us having experience of the pharmaceutical industry know all too well the rampant corruption endemic there, and in the case of the USA, the close linkages between insurance and pharmaceuticals. The end result is that the patient ends up paying a fortune, and getting bankrupt in the process.
The book was thoroughly enjoyable. However, cancer has touched the lives of every household the world over. Perhaps the chapter detailing the role of mitochondria in the production of ATP can be simplified, thereby increasing the audience. The topics discussed have touched a lot of lives and I would definitely like the book to be readily accessible to all and sundry.
I will rate the book 4 out of 4 . The reason for this rating is that this book completely changes the reader's outlook about cancer and it's treatment. It opens up the mind to safer alternatives which are not only readily available, but come at a much more economical price. My recommended audience are allopathic practitioners, families afflicted with cancer, and students of biology.
