Have you ever wondered what it is like to live the life of a drug addict or alcoholic? Well, you don't have to wander very far, Chasing A Flawed Sun is not just a novel but an insight into the life of Daniel Mcghee. Born from a couple who neither smokes nor drinks, Daniel Mcghee is both a drug addict as well as an alcoholic. From an early age, he was fascinated by the concept of gangsterism and took a liking to rap music, which in turn had him gravitating towards the bad boys of his school. Gradually he started destroying his life by the bad decisions he continued to make. It all of with a single cigarette which slowly turned to weed, then cocaine and heroin. Craving to have a status, he resorts to violence, creating fights and beating up innocent people, not caring whether they were a man or a woman and he succeeds as he becomes a merchant before the age of sixteen. Being a school dropout leads him to work multiple small jobs to support his addictions. Using all his money on clothes, alcohol, and drugs, he has nowhere to stay and relies heavily on others at the end of each day for accommodation and either pays them with a fix or gets them to join him at parties so that he could crash at their houses later on. He even suffers from withdrawal systems after losing his job and is unable to support his habits. Will he be able to put the fragmented pieces of his life back together or would he forever be lost in the circle of substance abuse? Follow Daniel on his journey and find out which path he takes.

Phenomenal is the word that best describes this enthralling tale written by Daniel Mcghee. I appreciate the fact that he had the courage to write about his own life whereas many would feel ashamed to do so.

I had nothing to dislike about the book at all, however, should young teenagers read this book, who may also be fascinated with gangsterism, may get ideas on how to deal with drugs and get alcohol whilst being underaged.

I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. Not only was the book edited professionally but was captivating to read about the life of a drug addict. The book contains violence and substance abuse.

I would strongly recommend this book to young adults and mature readers. If the knowledge of substance abuse appeals to you, then go ahead read this mind-swirling tale.
