Africa has, in times past, suffered a long pathetic period of unwanted colonization throughout its constituent countries. Also, there's a significant element of religious racism, political unrest as well as periodic moments of xenophobia in today's Africa. In this condition of Africa arose Dr. Ghoulem Berrah with his book, A Dream For Peace; the book shows his contributions that have impacted Africa in a positive direction towards solving the inherent problems in the continent. These include bringing about independence in his country of Algeria, solving altercations between conflicting countries, and how he lived a life worthy of emulation in religious tolerance.

A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a memoir detailing the author's account of the impactful life in the various sectors of Africa—political sector, religious sector, academic, and professional fields. The book presents a handful of moral values crucial for developing any previously dangerous country like Africa to such a level whereby every diversified tribe and government can work together peacefully.

The book is such a pack of moral lessons and impactful lifestyles from Dr. Ghoulem. From the book, he has influenced and contributed positively to various fields of study, such as in the medical field of study as well as countries within the continent. Dr. Ghoulem exemplified a life characterized by a passion for peace, as he brought about peace between Israel and Palestine using dialogue, which he believes to be vital and effective in solving disunity. Dr. Ghoulem shows a selfless life in many areas of his endeavors, as recorded in the book. He did resign from being a lecturer to become the second hand of the président Houphouët-Boigny of Côte d'Ivoire. And since then, he was able to accomplish many humanitarian records for Africa as a whole. Ghoulem, as a Muslim, married a Christian which justified his exemplary life of religious tolerance and peace advocacy. The book is written with clear language and without ambiguity. The author is bold and frank in presenting the account of his life, such that it touches readers' emotions to create a passion for action against the inherent social problems in Africa. Also, I want to comment on some knowledge gained, such as the major marriage traditions in Algeria.

There's nothing for me to dislike in the book. I have found it thought-provoking and inspiring to start doing good as far as one could go.

I couldn't find an error or typo in the book, so I considered it exceptionally well-edited. Therefore, I'll rate the book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend the book to readers who would love to read memoirs of legends that have made world impacts. If you would like to gain some knowledge about Africa in general, you may read this book.
