Review of Who Told You That You Were Naked?
Who Told You That You Were Naked? A Refreshing Re-examination of the Garden of Eden by Williams E. Combs reveals the creation of man through Adam. God created Adam and placed him in the Garden of Eden to be in charge of the Garden. Adam was lonely and could only relate to animals, especially one named "Lively." So God saw that he needed a helpmate and a companion, so he created a woman out of Adam’s rib.
Adam and Eve were instructed by God not to eat the fruits of a particular tree known as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If they eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil or even touch it, they will die. The serpent came to the woman that was created from Adam's rib and told her that if she eats it, she will be like God and know what is good and evil. Was the serpent able to convince her to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil? Did she give in to such temptation? What were the results of her actions? Read Who Told You That You Were Naked? A refreshing re-examination of the Garden of Eden to find out.
The author tried to make the biblical story of Adam and Eve so real that one would think it's a reality, which made the book more interesting. Also, Williams E. Combs tries to support his explanation by referring to the Holy Bible, which in turn makes the information contained in the book seem valid. The author simplified the story of Adam and Eve by dividing the book into ten chapters, making it easy for the reader to comprehend.
Who Told You That You Were Naked? A Refreshing Re-examination of the Garden of Eden is so interesting that I didn't see much reason to dislike it. However, there are some technical words that one has to search for in the dictionary to understand the message a particular sentence is conveying. This reduced the pace at which I read the book, and I became distracted a bit.
I found no errors in the book, so I will deduce that the book was professionally edited. Therefore, I will rate this book four out of four stars. I would recommend this book to Christians and anyone else who wants to grow in their faith in God. The book can also be recommended to non-Christians that enjoy reading history-related books.
