Who Told you That You Were Naked? by William E. Combs is a book that re-examines the garden of Eden and explains the events that led to the beginning of sin. The book is divided into 10 chapters. The author tells us how Adam in the first few days of his life lived before the Lord approached him and took him to a beautiful and peaceful place called Eden, that He had prepared for him. The author says that when they got there, God gave Adam instructions that he can eat fruits from any of the trees in the garden except from one tree because if he ate from it, there will be bad consequences.

After that the author says that God created Eve for Adam because Adam was lonely. Because God gave instructions to Adam, Eve had to be told the instructions by Adam and she did not fully comprehend them and that made it easy for the serpent to tempt her into disobeying God and eating the forbidden fruit and also offering it to her husband to eat. The author explains that this is how sin came into the world. From chapter two, William E. Combs explains the consequences of Adam and Eve’s disobedience and how their sin affected their children. From chapter 5, the author reveals God’s plan for redemption.

I love the author’s observation on the conversation that God had with Adam and Eve after they ate the forbidden fruit and how he explains what each one of them was thinking when they were talking to God. The other thing I loved was that the author gave personal testimonies on how he applied what he is teaching in the book and then tells us the results he got. The author included questions for discussion at the end of every lesson to help us discuss what we have learned so that we may not forget it and I love that at the end of each question he wrote a scripture where the question has been derived from.

One more thing I love about the book is that the author would quote instances in the bible where the events that occurred in the Garden of Eden were quoted and he would explain what others that came after those events learned from what happened in the garden.

There was nothing I disliked about the book when reading it because I just kept on learning new things on every chapter. I even got to learn that there are three types of deaths that came into the world as a result of Adam and Eve disobeying God.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 because it is a wonderful book that made me aware of many things that happened in the Garden of Eden that I was not aware of and it taught me that God has a plan for each one of us to be received by faith. I also give this book a full rating because it is well written and well edited as I did not see any spelling or grammatical errors while reading it.

Who Told You That You Were Naked? By William E. Combs Is a good book and I would recommend it to all Christians and theologians who want to get the full picture of what really happened in the Garden of Eden.
