Review of Health Tips, Myths, and Tricks
Health Tips, Myths, and Tricks by Morton E. Tavel as the name implies is an extensive health related piece, with a total of 62 chapters dedicated to enlightening the public on the variety of quality solutions as well as their inferior counterparts, focusing mainly on physical health, meals, medications, illnesses, and beliefs. The book utilises facts and principles to clarify misunderstandings, disprove scams, and finally recommend actual solutions to a variety of problems related to physical health and fitness. Not every supplement, medication, or delectable concoction is good for consumption whether its contents are rich, useful, and diversified. The simplest of foods can be an unexpected life saver. The book provides valuable information on over 24 dish related elements, minerals, and chemical compositions with some unexpected discoveries on both popular and unpopular myths, meals, snacks, and drugs. To find the amazing qualities of sweet potatoes, cranberries, and vegetables as well as the disadvantages of pizzas, shell fish, supplements, and red meat, I suggest you take a look at this.
The authors effort is definitely evident in this work as it cuts across a variety of health issues which are not limited to just the digestive system. His reference to relevant works to ensure credibility and clarity on some of the issues discussed is appreciated. The discourse on foods both canned or otherwise are very informative. The aspect of some dish elements like potatoes, pizzas, fish, red meat and coffee was very enlightening, frightening, and impressive all at the same time. The book covers food, physical activity, medicine, beliefs, and their applications which makes it interesting. Ignorance with regards to what we consume will hopefully be dispelled through this book.
I enjoyed the book as it is a reality check in itself and reawakens ones consciousness to what is and is not consumed by us be it food or not. I did not see the need for the symbols attached to each chapters heading.
My rating of the book is a 4 out of 4 because it covers a vast amount of issues in a clear and credible manner without being imposing while being well-edited.
I recommend the book to readers seeking insight into what they consume, and individuals with food related health issues, as well as dieticians.
