Bitcoin Answered: A Beginner's Guide to Everything Bitcoin by Alan John and Jon Law attempts to tackle questions related to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. The book explores all sorts of questions regarding the subject including concepts like blockchains, nodes, mining, and more. It is in a simple, question-based format to make it easier to understand for beginners.

Bitcoin Answered is a helpful book for anyone with an interest in investing and cryptocurrencies. The book answered the smallest questions one might have on the topic starting from ‘What is Bitcoin’. I appreciated the practical advice of the authors in terms of investing. As an example, I quote," Investing in cryptocurrencies is not risk-free, nor low risk; it is extremely risky, but being a double-edged sword, it also offers extreme reward.” I also liked the charts and illustrations at the end of each answer as well as the recommendations and websites links regarding trading sites, types of charts, charting resources, etc.

On the other hand, I wish there was more time spent on explaining the concept of ‘blockchains’ as it is such a core part of Bitcoin. As such, I could not rely on this book to completely understand Bitcoin. It can be used as a good side material in addition to some research but as a complete beginner, this may be difficult to understand (especially the latter question and answers).

As someone with a great interest in investing, this book was a very informative read. That being said, I did stumble on some concepts that were explained either very briefly or left up to one’s previous knowledge. Hence, I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this book to someone with prerequisite knowledge regarding Bitcoin or to someone willing to spend a long time on research and requiring some material at hand to come back to. Happy reading!
