Review of Health Tips, Myths, and Tricks
Looking for an easy handbook that outlines and explains how to effectively live a healthier lifestyle without dishing out so much cash? Then take some time out to read through Health Tips, Myths, and Tricks: A Physician's Advice by Morton E Tavel, MD. Dr. Tavel has spent many years working as a physician specialist in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases. He has conducted countless medical research and written numerous books, like this one, to help people receive the best medical knowledge without being exploited.
In the modern-day, health and wellbeing have had much global media attention. Although, most medical advice is sponsored by billion-dollar pharmaceutical companies seeking to financially exploit patients with alternative medicine that further destroy their health. Doctor Tavel’s book aims to complete the opposite. This physician’s manual is divided into three sections. Part one: Tips, focuses on how to live a healthier lifestyle. Throughout the section, there is advice on weight loss, nutritional health benefits, foods to avoid and much more. The overall goal is to provide people with easy everyday tips to live healthier without dishing out so much money. Part two: Myths, examines the common misconceptions individuals have in regards to health and wellbeing issues backed by zero medical expertise. This part covers various topics ranging from conspiracy theories, gluten-free diets, allergies, fortified and genetically modified foods and much much more. Finally, in section three: Tricks, the author examines and exposes some of the most fraudulent ways innocent people are financially exploited, from snake oils to numerous other drugs and supplements that also pose a potential risk to the human body.
There are several positive aspects of this book. One praiseworthy facet includes Doctor Tavel’s ability to communicate seriously complicated information. The book encompasses countless complex medical terminologies, which is appropriate to its context, that the author excellently dismantles and explains. The facts are easy to process and understand making both the reading and learning experience effortless and satisfying. Also, throughout the book, the author specifies the exact measurements found in various kinds of food: calories, minerals and nutrients in addition to various harmful side effects of different drugs. This was extremely helpful for many readers who can not completely comprehend the level of benefit or danger of certain foods, drugs or chemicals possess.
There isn’t anything negative I can say about this book. Although I found the formatting of the chapters slightly confusing, it was well edited and I hardly identified any spelling or grammatical issues. Also, the scientific jargon used was so simplified that the common layman will be able to wrap their heads around the information given. Overall, the book was informative, well researched, interesting and great fun to read. Therefore, I rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars.
This book is absolutely suitable for all ages. It doesn’t require you to be a science student or a health professional to understand. Furthermore, the content and advice provided are backed by trustworthy medical research that isn’t intended to rip you off. I would recommend this book to all groups of people as health and wellbeing should be the first and foremost priority of every person. Whether you are interested in eating and living well shouldn’t be a choice, this is a must. So, all people should take the time to read this book and implement the doctor's advice in order to change their lifestyle for a healthier one for themselves, their family and their future.
