Health Tips, Myths, and Tricks is an outstanding health reference book. The author debunks various beliefs that have endured for decades in our culture. Morton E. Tavel, M.D, is a retired physician who specialized in internal medicine and cardiology. He has expertly organized the work into three pieces, as the title implies. The first part tackles numerous health problems such as trans fats, weight loss, fat intake, chocolates, foods to avoid, fish, olive oil, potassium, and hypertension. Each assumption is verified by research or a journal article in the corresponding area of study.

As a guide to our health and the dangers we face when consuming certain foods, beverages, alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, and medicines, this book is a must-read. Despite the fact that each chapter is short, it does a thorough job of examining both the advantages and disadvantages of the topics discussed. A reader can then draw their own conclusions from that. There are many myths that we accept as fact, but I had no idea that some of them were myths in the first place. There are examples and explanations for every step of the process in this comprehensive guide.

When the reader has read the chapter titles, he or she can focus on the ones that particularly catch their attention. All readers will find something of value in these sections. The author's goal in this book is to show readers how common fallacies in the public's thinking lead to the spread of misinformation by giving them concrete examples of what they can look for.

My favorite aspect of the book was that it made sense to me, even though I had no prior knowledge of many medical terms. It used a lot of jargon that would be difficult to decipher if you weren't familiar with the field, but the explanations were clear and easy to follow.

The most frustrating aspect of this book for me was that it contained so much important information that I couldn’t keep up. To accommodate the massive amount of supporting data, it might be better divided into two books.

The book was edited and arranged in a professional manner. I give it a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. It's now a permanent fixture on my bookshelf. I am recommending the book to everyone who wants to stay current on health-related topics should check it out. However, it should not be relied upon in the event of serious medical issues.
