Written by Peter Liptak, Idiom Attack Vol. 1 Everyday Living (Spanish Edition) is a language learning book based on English and Spanish languages. This book contains 300 idioms presented in 25 chapters. At the end of each chapter, the author gives some test questions followed by a story that engages the reader into thinking. Also, the author provides steps on how to use this book for maximum benefits. Peter Liptak chooses a collection of idioms that are used daily in our conversations to express our emotions. Idioms decorate the daily talks of native English speakers in many ways.

An idiom is a phrase containing two or three words that create a unique meaning different from the meaning of the individual words. The author states that because these combinations may be strange for non-English speakers, it's difficult for foreigners to comprehend idioms. Therefore, if your purpose is to understand English, you ought to conquer idioms. That is the primary goal of this book-to help Spanish speakers understand English better. Each of the chapters introduces at least ten idioms, explains the meaning of each in both Spanish and English languages, and gives examples of use in sentences for in-depth learning.

Peter states that this book could be used as a teaching textbook or a reference guide for self-studies. Also, after each idiom explanation, the author includes the synonyms and antonyms where applicable. An appendix has been provided at the end of the book to help the reader locate an idiom quickly since they have not been arranged alphabetically. I liked the book because the author tries to use simple language when giving the meanings. Also, I felt engaged while reading through the stories and discussion questions provided. The writing style also is straightforward and descriptive.

I didn't hate so much about this book, although I would point out that the arrangement of idioms would have been in alphabetical order in order to locate an idiom easily. Also, the simultaneous explanations in English and Spanish bring discord in the reader's flow, although it helps one understand the idiom in both languages. There are also no grammatical errors in this book, and it was edited exceptionally. Therefore, I give this book four out of four stars.

This book is fit for Spanish speakers who want to learn the English language or native English speakers who want to learn Spanish. Also, it can be used as learning material, a reference guide, or a supplement for self-study. It doesn't contain any vulgar language or sexual scenes; therefore, anyone can read it regardless of age or gender. If you are a person seeking to learn the Spanish language, this book is for you.
