Read My Mind is a novel written by Stephen McLeod. We all struggle to achieve a meaningful life, and sometimes we have to sacrifice to get it. The book was about David and his life's struggles and sacrifices.

David is a 27-year-old man who is a former Catholic member. He had in the past accepted the fallacy of God, but now things have changed. All he wants to be is handsome and talented. He is pursuing money, sex and power so that he can feel significant once again. Things around him are not going too well as he lost friends yearly. These were upsetting, but he refused to give up. He is determined to never give up and focus on developing his skills in emotional regulation, which is otherwise known as “motivated forgetting.” How will David’s life pan out? What will be the end of him? All these questions were answered in this book.

The author presented the book in an intriguing way by including poems and quotes that are lovely to read. The poems were provided in each of the chapters, and they have varying themes that matched the content of each chapter. These poems helped the author to pass a specific message. The quotes provided also helped to prepare the heart of the reader towards what the chapter contains. He used simple English, so readers can understand all the words and descriptions included in the book. The story provided by the author was interesting to read, especially that aspect of David’s life with Jessica, his former partner. The author also made sure that the story was gradually unfolded to readers. This made readers be able to follow the story perfectly. The characters provided were also fun to read. David is a character with a positive attitude. All these made me enjoy this book.

The book started at a slow pace, and it took a long time before I could get a full understanding of the book. The way the author presented the life of David made it complicated to read, but as the story progress, the suspense was built and the book became interesting. These are the aspects I dislike in this book.

The book was professionally edited with no errors noticed. I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. This is because of the above-listed dislikes. The book was still interesting and is worth a read. Therefore, I will recommend this book to people who love reading books that deal with people’s struggles and how they cope with them.
