Review of The BadRedhead Media 30-Day Book Marketing Challenge
People may never get to know until you show them. This is always my stance when it comes to marketing. Whether you are a Justin Bieber in music or a William Shakespeare in writing, people may never get to know until they are made to see. In other words, no matter how good you are at a particular service or no matter how qualitative your product is, you would only be patronized by the people who the quality of such product has been made visible to. Visibility is the key.
In a busy digital world like ours, where there are many things clamoring for peoples’ attentions, how can a rising author and book marketer create the visibility that can open up opportunities for successful sales of books? This is an important question for consideration to rising authors and marketers of written works. Rachel Thompson provides the answer to this question in her book, The BadRedHead Media 30-Day Book Marketing Challenge. Rachel is an award-winning author with a broad range of experience in blogging and book marketing with proven successes. From her wealth of experience, she shares the best tips that she has learnt from her career so far.
The BadRedHead Media 30-Day Book Marketing Challenge presents a holistic guide to the use of the digital world to promote and market books in order to attain successful sales. The author however, explicitly stated that the challenge is for the promotion of books that are already well written and professionally edited. According to her, a book that is poorly written will remain poorly written even after it is being packaged and marketed beautifully.
The book is made up of 30 chapters. Each chapter is structured as a daily challenge. The 30-days challenge is divided into four weeks and parts. The first part walks us through the streets of Twitter and points out strategies to maximizing Twitter for book marketing. The second part is about Facebook, the third part discusses marketing plans and the last week enlightens readers on the use of professional websites, blogging and other social media sites. Each chapter ends with an assignment to spur the reader into action.
I appreciate that the book is very engaging. The author did a good job in providing practical steps with visual aids to help the readers understand better. The chapters are concise and straight to the point which makes the book easy to read. What I like best about the book is the conversational and interesting tone that the writer used in writing the book.
I did not particularly dislike anything about the book. I think that the book is well structured, clear, highly informative, very educative and professionally edited. On these bases, I give the book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend the book to authors and people who need tips on how to promote their brand in the digital world.
