Review of The Spirituality Puzzle
The Spirituality Puzzle by James Rondinone and his daughter Renée Rondinone is a biblical tour whose journey begins with looking at the four dispensations of the gospel. The age of the Gentiles is the first dispensation, followed by the Age of Israel, then the Incarnation of Christ, and lastly the Church age, which is the current dispensation we are living in.
Throughout the book, the authors use two questions to further their study into the salvation messages, that is, what makes an unbeliever have a relationship with Yahweh, and the second being what makes a believer have fellowship with Yahweh. There is a bit of a study on whether or not little or no fellowship leads to the loss of a relationship with Yahweh.
James Rondinone talks about four salvation messages, but eventually ruled out two of them and is left with the other two which are the main focus of the book. One message talks about salvation by repentance and belief, while the other one talks about salvation by repentance, belief, water baptism, and Godly works. They compare and contrast the two messages to try and see which one is more accurate. The authors finally make a very compelling argument about whether or not sin will be an issue at the final judgment.
When I saw this book I immediately selected it because I thought it would help me understand a lot of things regarding my faith, and I was right. I connected with the book on a more personal level. It helped me figure out how I need to conduct myself as a Christian and helped me feel more secure about my choices to follow Christ. I have been struggling with my faith, not able to understand why certain things happen even when I believe God has my back, but the Spirituality puzzle gave me answers to a lot of my unanswered questions. I also struggled with feeling worthy of God’s forgiveness, like even though I decided to turn my life to Christ I may still not be saved and my past transgressions would always be a part of me. However, the authors talked about sanctification. God wipes the slate clean when you turn your life around. I think it is safe to say the concept of water baptism is grossly misunderstood by most churches. However, the authors thoroughly exhausted any research possible on this topic and it left me mind blown. I also liked the fact that the authors were open-minded to any outcome possible, and their research was not biased.
Although their main focus was was not about the dispensations they started talking about in the first chapter, I found it very important as it helped me understand the course my religion has run thus far. I loved how the results of the comparison of the last standing two messages were tabulated, giving me as a reader, the opportunity to compare with my own opinions.
The book was professionally edited. I could not find any grammatical errors. As expected, there were no forms of profanity. However, there are no page numbers. Instead, the book came in percentages, with one percent accounting for two or more pages which made it difficult to keep proper track of my progress. But since the book was edited well, I still give it 4 out of 4 stars .
The Spirituality Puzzle is suitable for all age groups. If you’re looking to expand your knowledge about salvation and repentance then this is the book for you. If you have given your life to Christ and somehow lost your way again, this book may be of great assistance to figuring out how to get back on the right path.

It's a great way of exploring all unanswered angles in Christianity, and the greatest part is there is always room for your own point of view.
