Some books have this nature of taking readers by surprise by throwing some phrases at you that inspires you to build a better life How To Be Successful: Think Like A Leader by M. Curtis McCoy is filled with life lessons that apply to business, relationships, and all aspects of being truly successful. This book serves as a reminder that our decisions, our outlook on life, or our attitude plays a massive role in where we end up.

M. Curtis McCoy lost everything after being diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor but fought against all the odds to recover and inspire thousands to reach their goals through mentoring, speaking, and books. Curtis includes interviews of successful people, namely Jeff Wobig, Connie Wyatt, Paul B, etc in his book which gives us an insight into their outlooks on life. They are real-life examples of turning their hurdles into their success. Real-life examples add credibility to the author's theory.

In the interview, Curtis asked some basic questions about their definition of success, daily habits that led to their success, their strengths and their weakness, their principles, and many more. A person's worries and hardship not only gives us an into their character but also highlights similarities that you have with them for your own career. This book offers great advice and principles that will not only help you achieve your ambitions but also motivate you to never give up.

My favorite topic in the book was "The Art of Saying, No". I have always considered myself a people pleaser. It is necessary to learn how to say no while still maintaining the relationship with others. You can still motivate and inspire others by saying no. Another thing that I liked about the book was the format that it was written in. By asking the same questions in all the interviews, it provided the readers with a different outlook. The book provides encouragement and motivation that is sometimes hard to find in our daily life.

I found no errors in the book. It was professionally edited however, I found the spacing of quite a few words unappealing. The book contains thoughts on spirituality and some references from the Bible. The book does not contain any profanity or obscenities. Therefore, I rate this book 4 out of 4 Stars. I would recommend this book to all the self-help book geeks out there. This book adds a new dimension to the values of success, gratitude, friendship, and awareness.
