Review of How To Be Successful
[Following is a volunteer review of "How To Be Successful" by M. Curtis McCoy.]
M. Curtis McCoy was diagnosed with a malignant glioblastoma brain tumor in 2010 but that did not deter him from his quest for success. He wrote How To Be Successful: Think Like A leader to teach life lessons that apply to business, relationships, and all elements of being truly successful from series of interviews ranging from professional athletes, preachers, wealthy investors, expert negotiators, and even ex-convicts turned entrepreneurs. These interviews talk about establishing a life that's not only financially successful but also harmonious and enjoyable. He also talks about his life experiences before and after he was diagnosed with brain cancer. These stories touch on all aspects of life including family friends and the social circle. It also includes the pivotal movements that set these successful people on their journey to success.
The secrets to success highlighted in this book are not only helpful to people on their road to success but I also found them related to real life. The author points out some of the myths and misconceptions people have concerning successful people and inserts the truth. He further explains the reason why he decided to embark on the writing of How To Be Successful: Think Like A Leader. M. Curtis McCoy also quotes important verses and quotes from the Bible to back up his teachings. Some quotes from the Bible to back up his teachings. Some quotes that have also been used were drawn from some famous world figures and the people who inspired him.
The author's own story was the most interesting part for me of the book. His story sheds some light on how children's lives are also impacted by their parent's lives and actions. He clearly states that the road to success will not be easy but our attitude and strategies are what will keep us at a good pace. In his book, he also notes down some of the experiences and probabilities one should be ready for when they embark on the success journey and also after they become successful. Discussion on having a positive outlook and the consequences has also been highlighted.
This book talks about many things that I did not expect to find in such a leadership book and I, therefore, rate it 4 out of 4 stars. I did not find any grammatical error indicating that it was exceptionally well-edited.
How To Be Successful: Think Like A Leader will impact and uplift many dreams and I recommend it to all readers who are passionate about leadership and being successful in their endeavors.
