Treatment of mental illness is a crucial aspect that requires a promising combination of treatment. Gracelyn Guyol, the author of Restoring Your Childs Mental Health: 10 Innovative Drug-free Treatment, explores healing ADHD, depression, and addiction without drugs. She began this journey a year after she was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder type 2. She developed multiple benign breast cysts and tumors with ceased after she quit using Wellbutrin and it became her prime suspect for her side effects. In this book, Guyol explains that brain volume shrinkage was reported in patients caused by treatment rather than the disease in schizophrenic patients. She notes some of the effects some of the drugs used have on the patients. She then notes the methods that can be used in healing mental illness without the use of drugs. Her methods have been based on extensive research and this declares the methods effective.

Grace Guyol, at the beginning of the book, notes how these treatments have evolved over the years and similarly how they were introduced. The book contains references to some of the materials that explain the same methods. She uses simple scientific terms to explain her methods and this is noted and direct to the point. She informs the reader that they should seek further medical advice if they want to start on this method but are still on supplementary drugs for medication. Guyol also writes the book because after noting the effects of the psychiatric drug, none of the authors of the books that declared them affecting one's health propose what might replace the psychiatric drug hence this book would be helpful to those patients who have been affected with the treatment.

The extensive research done by Gracelyn Guyol helps in solving some of the crimes that had been committed in the USA involving the shootings in major schools. She further illustrates the varying costs for some of this treatment in the US. This book contains a lot of information that can be noted in a short period and later be used as a reference book. I only found one negative aspect in the book. Several paragraph breaks were unnecessary to the text and thus distracted my reading. I loved everything else about the book and it was extremely informative.

I rate Restoring Your Childs Mental Health: 10 Innovative, Drug-Free Treatment 4 out of 4 stars. I only noted two grammatical errors in this book indicating that it was professionally edited. The paragraph breaks were very minor and did not affect my rating of the book.

This book touches many aspects and I would recommend it to readers and patients who may want to make themselves familiar with the 10 innovative ways of treatment in this book. Gracelyn Guyol's research can also be used by medical practitioners for reference in treatment.

It's true that many medications come with harmful side effects. So, we must be careful and do some research before using them. I hope the remedies in this book work for those who try them.

Thank you for an informative review.
