If you have experienced chronic pain at some point in your life, you may be familiar with its effects both physically and emotionally. Most of the time, we worsen the pain without even knowing, and at times it can be easily avoided through the self-healing process. Happy healing by Dominique Bourlet will guide you through this process.

Dominique Bourlet, a French alternative practitioner, considers body pain to be a person. It is apparent right from the beginning of this book that the author’s healing technique is very different. The treatment offers emotional, physical, and spiritual healing, which she breaks down perfectly to the reader. The book is broken into chapters that may be suitable for the different types of readers. This means that you can just select the chapter of your preference, no need to read everything in the book. However, before reading the book, it would be great to go through the eight questions in the introduction, so you can discover which chapter best suits your needs.

I loved how the author takes us through the eight steps to self-healing. I also liked these self-healing methods because you learn how to overcome pain without depressing yourself even more. These steps can be practiced by patients experiencing pain and discomfort as well as patients with asymptomatic conditions. This means that these self-healing techniques can be effective in psychosomatic disorders, behavioral disorders, body pain, and many more.

Apart from all that, there’s one thing that put me off quite a bit while reading the book. This is when the author talks about interacting with pain. The author suggests that you should talk to the pain you are experiencing in your body. I imagined doing this, and I just don’t think I can. Maybe, I may be naive, but I don’t believe that a reasonable person would do that.

Additionally, in some chapters, the author was kind of advocating for patients to ignore modern medicine based on some of her stories. However, I would just point out; sometimes it's just good to exercise a bit of common sense. For example, if you break your hand, please go to the hospital!

I rate Happy healing by Dominique Bourlet 4 out of 4 stars because it was exceptionally well-edited and very informative. Additionally, the writing style was interactive and easy to understand the concepts. I also loved some of the methods described in the book. They are natural and have no harm to your body. Lastly, I appreciate that the author gives us some case studies in the book and not just pointing out the methods.

I recommend the book to readers who enjoy reading self-healing books, books that talk about body and mind connection, and those who are suffering from body pain.
