If you are in search of a great inspirational book, then Faith to Freedom: From Dumpster To Doctor by Dr. Keith L. Marshall PsyD, MHD is the book! It is all about surviving the unimaginable. It will also show you that we are a product of our own experiences. This book is based on a true-life experience. The author walks us through his life experiences from his childhood days to his adult life.

Dr. Keith was born in Pennsylvania. He had such a hard childhood life, from verbal, physical, to sexual abuse. The streets taught him how to be tough and stand on his ground at a very young age. As if this is too much, he finds himself deep into addiction, living in the streets, stabbed, a near-death experience, and so much more. The most touching thing about all these is that he had nowhere and no one to turn to with his inner struggles, fears, and feelings at the end of the day.

All these are highlighted perfectly in the book through a roller-coaster of events. The book had so much to love, and it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. It made me realize how powerful the human mind can be.

The author held my attention from the beginning of the book to the end. There’s one thing that Dr.Keith mentioned right at the beginning of the book, that when he was young, he would go into his brother’s crib just to steal some of his milk or juice because he was starving. This got to me big time! - The struggle was real.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because the author perfectly highlights his life through thick and thin. The book was exceptionally well-edited and inspirational. The author also includes pictures, which made it more relatable. Additionally, Faith to Freedom: From Dumpster To Doctor allows readers to also face their internal wounds for better healing.

I felt so sorry for Dr. Keith’s mother. She was such a strong woman, very hardworking, and persevered all that life threw at her. Having a cheating husband, trying to raise her sons by working hard so that they would get the best education, and living with a husband who constantly punched her and mistreated her, was just too much. She still managed to educate herself and become a professional nurse.

This book should not only be limited to Christian believers. Therefore, I would recommend it to those struggling in life and readers looking for inspiration and motivation.

What made him transform? Well, you will have to read to find out. To sum it up, this was a great read!
