Chronicles Journey Towards Hope by Marvin Wilmes tells the true story of the author who dealt with so many losses in his life. It gives a detailed account of his struggle to carry on with life and his Christian faith. He intends to encourage readers to stay strong even in the darkest circumstances.

Marvin Wilmes believes so much in his dreams and exercises faith in God for his life's direction. He applied for a job at 'The Community' newspaper and luckily got it. Later on, he established his own newspaper company named 'The Chronicle,' which, according to him, was through God's directives. Marvin Wilmes is married to Lori, who stood by him during his trying times. Initially, his company wasn't flourishing as expected, together with the fact that cynics were waiting patiently for his business to crumble. However, with deep perseverance and unshakable exercise of faith in God, their expectations were cut short.

I enjoyed how Marvin Wilmes continued to express a high level of love and affection for his wife despite the circumstances. His attitude towards her is worth emulating by today's young men. Marvin Wilmes is a kind, loving, and caring husband. Lori had challenges with conceiving; notwithstanding, Marvin still believed that nature had to take its due course.

Interestingly, this story tends to capture the very importance of family. Mr. Wilmes never fails to appreciate his late mom and the magnificent deeds of his father. His father's advice went a long way to guide him through the track of life. What I liked most was the author's doggedness and unwavering determination to keep pushing on despite the hurdles on his way. I am sure that readers will learn a lot from his personality.

I am deeply inspired and motivated by the thought-provoking nuggets of wisdom at the beginning of every chapter. And I always looked forward to the next chapter because it had something new to give me. My favorite is by Mandy Hale, and it reads: "Happiness is letting go of what you think your life is supposed to look like and celebrating it for everything that it is." This quote teaches me to be grateful for where I am today. Also, the use of Bible quotations provides references to our hope and strengthens our faith in God.

In conclusion, the author's writing style is simple and easy to understand. This book is exceptionally edited without any typos. The only thing I disliked was the tiny font size, which stressed my eyes. Nevertheless, it didn't detract from the book's relevance. Therefore, I'm glad to rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend it to anyone who is going through a tough time, loss, or family issues. People who need to build their faith in God will also benefit from the book.
