Do you sometimes feel you are being fed lies by your religious leaders? Do you sometimes question some various aspects of religion? Though some of us may not admit it, we all at a point in our life we ask ourselves these questions. Sometimes when we look around at some rules that are there, especially in the church, I think logically, some of them may not have so much significance.

The book Wilderness Cry by Hilary Hunt is a scientific and philosophical approach to understanding God and the universe. In the book, the author has tried to explain to us how the Christian religion has changed over time since the times of the Old Testament to the present age. The author has tried to bring out some issues that most of us are normally afraid to even think about. In the book, we see how some various people in authority have contradicted the biblical teachings to benefit their own interests and insulting the common sense of all. We can also see how some preachers use fear to emotionally and mentally terrorize their congregants in order to ensure that their power and influence are felt.

What I liked most about the book are the various lessons that I have learnt. Through this book, I have learnt to use my God given intellect to analyse some religious activities before going through with them. I will no longer be exploited by people just because they are said to be religious leaders. I have also learnt the power of “the almighty dollar” and how it changes even the most religious people. I loved the fact that in the introduction, the author has taken the initiative in trying to explain to us the reason he gave the book that title. The author has also used simple language that is easy to understand.

I found nothing to dislike about the book. More so, I did not find any grammatical or spelling errors while reading it and would comfortably say that this book was professionally edited.

I would give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. This is because, the plot was well-planned and engaging right from the start of the book to the end and also there were no errors. I was keen to know how the author would assess the next topic. I would recommend this book to teenagers and adults who are interested in learning more about the Christian religion.
