Review by Jeff Kanda -- The Mindset by Ace Bowers
The Mindset by Ace Bowers is a memoir of the author's life from the time he was a teenager while living with his parents to the time he started working as a janitor and finally becoming a millionaire. The author is the youngest child of three kids in a blue-collar beginning. His parents were alcoholics and most of the nights, chaos arose between his mother and father. Ace really hated those fights but could not do anything to make things better between his parents.
After completing his high school education, Ace was unable to go to college because his parents had not been saving money. He therefore remained at home staying with his parents. This is when he began smoking. Fast forward, after some years, the author got a job as a janitor at a small motel in California. The wage was minimum but he was okay with it. After some time, he became a security guard and he was paid slightly more than when he was a janitor. Ace then decided to increase his knowledge by taking night classes. This is how he started making bigger progresses in life. Read this great memoir to find out how Ace Bowers finally became a millionaire.
I enjoyed the aspects in this book. Ace has shared gloomy sides and pleasant experiences of his life without feeling shameful. This makes it easy for readers to learn valuable lessons from Ace's failures and success. The book has been narrated from the first person's point of view and it is both interesting and inspiring. I liked the way the author vividly described events. I also liked the way the author described baseball as his favorite sport. I hardly find such definition of terms in most novels.
The memoir is short, it has only ten chapters in the ninety three pages. However, the overall message it has is very touching to readers who wish to get richer and be happier with life. I believe that after reading this book, a reader will consider to be financially stable and have financial discipline. The lesson that I am taking from this great book is that, if you have the right mindset, you will achieve greatly in life.
I did not find any typographical error in this book and therefore, I can conclude that the book was professionally edited. The novel has very few vulgar words and lacks erotic scenes. I highly recommend that young adults should read this book to get inspired and view life from a better perspective I rate the book four out of four stars because of the valuable lessons it contains.
