Review by nimitn -- The Mindset by Ace Bowers
The Mindset by Ace Bowers is an excellent autobiography that showcases a young man’s journey from being a minimum wage worker to a self-made millionaire. The book is an inspiring memoir of the author and can very well be placed in the category of self-help books. This rags to riches story can serve as a source of motivation for anyone who is looking to turnaround their life for the better. Most importantly, it discusses how a simple shift in mindset was largely responsible for the author’s financial prosperity. It also sheds light on the importance of having a strong support system in the form of family, friends, and a lover.
The challenging situations in which the author grew up was heartbreaking to read. However, his humorous approach to describe his tragedy was worth reading it. There are several instances where you will find yourself smiling when learning about his life story. The positive approach to negative situations is one of the best things about this book. Being able to see the brighter side in life and making the most out of it is the underlying message that this story carries. This is one of the best things about the book because it gives some hope, that no matter what the situation we are capable to change it.
The storytelling is extremely engaging, straightforward, and easy to understand. It almost feels like the author is directly talking to you. The author has also been brave enough to discuss all his insecurities that developed throughout his life. Another good aspect of the book because not only does the author discuss his own insecurities he also shows how he changed them and moved ahead in life.
We also learn that he was unable to take formal education from a university because of the financial crisis his parents were in all the time. He kind of drifted away as a young man and got overweight, depressed, and found himself addicted to smoking cigarettes. In short, he was set up for being just like his parents, broke. But he did not and decided to turn things around.
I really enjoyed reading the book and have nothing bad to say about it because the book is written in simple easy to understand language and is to the point.
The book is professionally edited and I did not find a single error or typo. Anyone who is going through a rough patch in life would benefit from finding inspiration by reading this book. Also, young parents would find it useful to understand what they shouldn’t and should do in the presence of a little child. These are some of the reasons why I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars and recommend everyone to read it.
