The Mindset by Ace Bowers is a memoir and a non-fictional narration of the experiences of the author growing up, and the reward of his unrelenting motivation which he regarded as an overcomer's mindset.

It explores the life trials, struggles, and triumph of a man who started on a wrong foot in the journey of life but through hard work and the right mindset was able to regain his stance. The book explains how he moved from a sore background to make a different path for himself, his future, and his generation simply by changing his outlook towards life. It explores the life of a man taken from the gallows into the palace. Even though there could have been supporting factors, his change of mindset set him above his peers and turned his life around completely. The book also teaches genuine love with no strings attached considering the relationship between him, his family, and friends and sheds new light and meaning towards life, true friendship, success, and relationships.

Significantly, The Mindset by Ace Bowers teaches about resilience and that regardless of life challenges, we just shouldn't stop trying. I learned a life-changing lesson from the book that what differentiates a person from those that are either below in life or no longer existing is that they stopped striving. There’s an old saying that if you can see it you can achieve it. Indeed, Bowers revealed through his book that it takes more than a change in situation or location for one to make a change in one’s life, and that progress in life has a lot to do with the mindset. Also, there are many life walk-throughs in this book, for instance, it teaches about letting go because that's when one can truly find peace. Therefore, no matter what kind of childhood you must have had or whatever life throws at you, you only need to let go of the past and become the architect of your future.

It is an inspiring and hope-restoring book. What’s more amazing about the book is that it speaks directly to you. I can't begin to describe my emotions while reading this book. The author’s descriptions of his past conditions were so relatable that I couldn't but shed tears at the absurdity of life. I believe nobody would read this book and not desire to change their status in life or determine that none of their loved ones would ever go through similar situation due to lack of financial discipline or initiatives when there are opportunities. That feeling of verisimilitude while reading was so profound, for example, the use of defense mechanisms to hide fears and insecurity and an imperfect life. I like the fact that he trusted his readers to share a past that wasn't so pleasant just that others would learn not to ever give up or let their background put them to the ground. I realized that a victim mindset is a set-up for failure and the author did justice to this by giving a step -by step approach to an overcomer's mindset.

All things considered, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars as the book is professionally written and edited and there wasn’t a single thing I disliked about it. I would recommend this book to the broken and down-hearted, those who have given up on life and have allowed their background to lower their mindset. Ace Bowers shows us a living example that change is indeed possible. Undeniably, The Mindset by Ace Bowers will show you some millionaire moves. However, if you're looking for a get-rich-quick scheme kind of book, I will advise you not to waste your time reading this book; if you're ready to make significant progress in changing your life and turning the negative situations in your life around with a changed mindset, then this book is certainly for you.
