The book talks about parenting and unity in the community. It is a self improvement book. The author gets to discuss about different television programs and celebrity figures and the role they play in manipulating audiences and campaigning for different agendas.

The author argues that "Your mind is programmable. If you are not programming your mind, someone else will program it for you." It seems a simple but a cold statement since more than enough public figures have played a manipulating role according to the book.
The book tries to teach every person to live freely and not to copy their celebrity idols.
"No matter your perception of something, that is your personal belief" This is a quote derived from the book. It tries to teach people about accepting mistakes, apologizing and moving on regardless of what other people think.

Whatever we plant on our subconscious mind and nourish it with repetition and emotions, will one day become reality. Whatever we stand for, be it a lie or a fact, once planted in our mind it ends up being reality. This means that following other peoples ideas and concepts can be detrimental.

The author also stands against television programs and shows. A good example given is "the upside" television show by American comedian Kevin Hart. Am a die-hard fan of Kevin Hart and I can testify that the movie starts stating that it is based on a true story. However the content displayed is brain washing at some point. Other celebrities mentioned include Tupac Shakur and Nipsey Hussle and interesting part is that both of them are dead and talked about their death before it happened. The author goes ahead and nicknames television as TELL-LIE-VISION.

Every story ends and one wakes up in his bed believing whatever he wants to believe. Every person is entitled to live in his truth.

Divine simplicity is a book that all people looking forward to live a free independent life should read. For Christians it is a call for them to do good and stand for something and also seek for the truth

As a result for reading this book, I have gained valuable insight to check what is happening and analyze it. This is a great call to accountability on whatever decision I make and my life.

I recommend it to all people who like self-help books. It will appeal most to Christians and all people who are on the journey to live freely and find the truth . I rate this remarkable book 4 out of 4 stars.

This sounds like a very timely book. This is especially true beyond television these days too. TikTok stars are like huge idols for the younger generation and they want to copy them all the time. Also, the information coming out about algorithms in Facebook, Google and other sites just feeds this idea too. Your mind is literally being programmed. The television is probably the least of it nowadays, sadly.

I think it's the important topic that the author is tackling in this book. Idolizing celebrity so much so that people are willing to do extreme things just to be noticed by them is so wrong. At the same time, I do understand why someone would idolize a person. Maybe it's because they inspire them, their life journey is the same as them and this gives them hope that one day maybe they too will make it like them. So I am eager to read this and find out how the author addresses this issue. Great review!

"Your mind is programmable. If you are not programming your mind, someone else will program it for you."
That statement is so true. We must be careful about what we accept into our minds, both consciously and subconsciously. Thank you for your recommendation. :balloon:
