M. Curtis McCoy's book, How To Be Successful: Think Like A Leader is one book that is very unique in its way of delivering information. If you thought this is just any other book about success and motivation then you are wrong. The author has shared his worst moments as a successful person and how he had to overcome. At a young age of 27 years, Curtis McCoy was successful but all came crumbling after he was diagnosed with brain cancer and started experiencing memory loss, unable to drive and even take care of himself.

Curtis is a very positive person and that has manifested itself all through in his book. He was told that he had about 60 to 90 days to live and that was when he decided to contact leaders and other successful investors and inventors so that he can compile real-life stories to write in this book. This is a show that with the right mindset, one can overcome even the toughest situations that could not be imagined.

I like his book as it has taken me by surprise on how life can change drastically from being the best to turn around and be very difficult. This is not just from the author, Curtis but from the various people he interviewed. The interviews have captured real-life experiences that many people can relate to and act as actual testimonies we can believe in. This book has shown that you do not need to get old enough for you to start a business but can start as early as you can and make those mistakes.

I did not find any reasons not to like this book but rather I would have loved it if it would have continued further and not just limited to 185 total pages. This is especially on interviews with diverse successful people as it is one of the best parts of the book. The writing is well thought of making the book easy to read through without any difficulties.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 for the unique style of delivery and how the author went out of his way to make a turn around in his life and showing us that it is possible through the series of interviews. I did not find any noticeable errors and spelling mistakes as the book was well edited. I would recommend this book to anyone who thinks that they are limited to how far they can go. There is no permanent position and the best way to overcome is having the right mindset as Curtis has put it in this book.
