How to Be Successful by M. Curtis McCoy is a book about success, as the title suggests; the book tells you how to be successful. The layout of the book is like an interview with successful people, they are asked a couple of questions, such as; what is your definition of success? When did you consider yourself a success? What inspires you? And so on. At the end asking the successful people what advice they would give to their 18-year-old self. As well as the interviews the author gives helpful tips that can be considered essential and vital to live a good, successful life. From how to find and keep good friends, how to reward yourself and detailed ways you can improve your attitude.

My favourite quote in the book is “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” This is just one of the many inspirational sayings in the book. It really helps you look at life from a different perspective.

The book is a quick read and succeeds in inspiring you to get up and get moving in what you want to do, the stories are motivating since you may be going through something similar too. It shows how the life you are living at the moment may not be where you want to be, however you just have to work towards your goals and what you consider as success. What I liked most about the book was that it exaggerates on the fact that success means something different to everyone, it does not have to be monetary based, it can be absolutely anything that gives you joy!

The author, where needed, also shows statistics; this indicates that the author took time researching for the book. The book is written and edited very well. It seems faultless, I did not come across any mistakes which shows the exceptional skills that were incorporated into the book.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to be successful. If you just need a push, or some ideas how to move forward with an idea and just need some motivation, pick up this book and give it a read. You’ll be smiling from ear to ear, reading peoples stories on their success, getting inspired by every page.

I am rating the book four out of four stars. I loved everything about the book, the content of the book and the great editing. I have no reason to rate the book any less.
