Review by songweilong001 -- How To Be Successful
How To Be Successful by M. Curtis McCoy is a non-fictional book that the author wrote based on true stories he’s heard from people who have been in situations similar or even worse than his own. And these stories are filled with examples that will inspire you to be the best you can be. The author has kept a running list of the most important people he interviewed throughout his career, so whenever I came across a story that I liked, I checked the book to see if it was on that list. The first chapter is where you learn about the author’s struggle to find his calling. The book also contains lots of small tips and tricks which will make anyone a bit more comfortable in their skin.
Through the ups and downs of life, people often forget that they are not as bad as they think they are. I am especially pleased that the author has kept a simple English language in the book. I also liked the idea of making the reader aware of the many ways one can develop confidence and how one should balance their success with their families' lives at every moment.
One thing I liked about this book was the way it was edited. It gave me a different perspective on how people are defined and how their motivations for pursuing a goal change over time. I liked the main points about how one should surround oneself with positive influences and how one should seek the counsel of successful people in one's life. The book is in an interview format which makes it suitable for any age.
The book was not very effective at changing my views about certain issues. The book makes me think but doesn't lead to real-life solutions. The book also contains some common Christian apologetics talking points, but they're all outweighed by the evidence-based advice that the author provided. The author shares many inspirational quotes to remind us of why we are striving so hard for what we want.
overall, I was satisfied with the book and was glad that I read it. The book does not contain any religious verses. I highly recommend this book to all the people who love reading self-help books and also those who love reading self-help books which have a bit of spirituality in them. I also highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be successful in their life and to anyone who wants to improve their attitude towards life. The font is not appealing at all. It is not a problem and does not detract from the book's readability. And because of this, I gave this book 3 out of 4 stars.
