Anxiety and stress can be caused by anything from rush hour traffic to an unexpected job loss. Uncontrolled anxiety and stress can build up and take a toll on a person's physical and emotional well-being. Natural Relief for Anxiety and Stress: A Practical Guide is a nonfiction self-help book written by Dr. Gustavo Kinrys and Alexandra Gold. This comprehensive guide defines anxiety disorders, the resulting symptoms, and natural solutions. Solutions include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), nutrient-based and herbal-based remedies, natural remedies such as deep breathing and relaxation exercises, physical exercise, meditation, alternative therapies, technology-based therapies, and dietary changes.

My personal top three stress relievers are vigorous exercise, good sleep, and nutritious food. In our culture, there seems to be a pharmaceutical solution for whatever is wrong with us. But there is no substitute for letting the body heal itself through natural means. There are good reasons for taking pharmaceuticals to address depression and anxiety under proper medical supervision. But I like the way the authors encourage natural remedies that complement pharmaceutical solutions.

My favorite feature of the book is the Appendix that includes summary tables and the grocery list. I updated my grocery list from the one in the book. I also appreciate that the proposed solutions are affordable as well as practical.

Most health insurance policies have a mental health option that would cover Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT. In times of extreme stress like a divorce or a death in the family, this option is one that should be seriously considered. CBT is a short-term therapy technique that can help people modify their responses to anxiety and stress by changing their thought patterns. CBT can help people learn to cope with difficult relationships, deal with grief, and many other challenges.

There is good stress and bad stress. Good stress is like tuning the strings on a violin to their perfect pitch. Bad stress is like tightening the strings on a violin until they break. They are not designed to be stretched beyond a certain limit. We need to keep our stress levels within tolerable limits, and those limits are different for everyone.

Natural Relief for Anxiety and Stress: A Practical Guide is well written and professionally edited. I didn't find any errors. I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a little extra help in relieving everyday anxiety and stress. If you are currently experiencing overwhelming depression, you should seek medical advice immediately. I am giving this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.

I love your comparison of stress to violin strings! That is a great way to describe the feelings of stress on the body! I just read and reviewed this book as well, and I really like your review. Your introductory sentence really eases the reader into the topic gently and adds interest.

In chain of best books "Natural Relief for Anxiety and Stress" is one of good page. Author experienced it in little different manner by three types of stress reliefs. vigorous exercise, good sleep, and nutritious food.

If the book in the Appendix contains lot of Groceries then it is difficult to keep it in mind. And in the time of stress these won't come in to our mind.

I like that two types of stress "Good and Bad".

We all experience anxiety and stress from time to time. Sadly, we may be exhibiting symptoms without knowing that they are as a result of anxiety and stress.

It's comforting that there are natural and nutritional remedies. Indeed, 'there is no substitute for letting the body heal itself through natural means.'
I'll just go ahead and read the book for an in-depth knowledge. Thanks for the interesting review.

I think that it's great that you emphasized the importance of working on your inner self and trying our CBT instead of seeking help in pharmaceuticals and medicaments. We are the only ones who can fully influence our regeneration and rehabilitation.

I loved the part where you talked about letting the body heal itself. I have just started breathing exercises and guided meditation, and I do feel a difference. Of course, it is not an option for everyone, but I think natural remedies are always preferable if possible. I loved reading your review, and you made me want to give this book a try.
