The Writers RoadMap is an inspiring self-help book on how to navigate the challenges of one's career as a writer while still managing the daily hassles of your own life. The author dives into her own personal experiences and shares what methods and techniques have worked best for her and her clients. She goes through exercises that help map out your goals, objectives and overall dreams. The book is clear cut, straightforward and gives excellent techniques and advice on how to tackle your goals. If you’re trying to leave that job you dread and can’t seem to find the motivation or know where to start, this book is for you!

The book is written in an interpersonal way as if the author is coaching you. Personal client experiences are shared as well as hands-on writing exercises throughout the book. This book explains how you can go from a clustered mess of ideas to an organized objective that will change your life!

I absolutely loved reading The Writers RoadMap! As someone who wants to build a career with writing I was confused as to where I should start. Writing a book is overwhelming and scary. The author allowed me to understand that my feelings and fears are normal. I feel as though I have a clear path for where I should start as a writer. I feel refreshed and motivated after reading this book and now have a clear set of written goals and overall objectives I want to achieve.

There was absolutely nothing I disliked about this book! The moment I picked it up I could not put it down. When reading a self-help book you want something relatable, straightforward and interpersonal. This book had all three of those aspects! I am very happy I came across this book and for the reasons mentioned above I am very pleased to give The Writers RoadMap by Leigh Shulman 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this book to anyone in the creative industry who feels lost and confused on where to begin their journey. Overall, The Writers RoadMap was motivating and a pleasure to read.
