The Mindset - Ace Bowers
My Journey from Janitor to Silicone Valley Millionaire in Five Years

Ace Bowers, the son of high school sweethearts, who was born into a blue-collar family just trying to make ends meet; describes his journey in this detailed memoir of how he transformed his life from poverty to riches and success, both financially and emotionally. The book starts off strong with a motivational account of how Ace Bowers managed to turn his life around through hard work and dedication. Including inspirational quotes such as "I may not have been born into money or have things come easy for me, but what I did possess was motivation." Ace Bowers describes his early childhood and family life, giving the reader an insiders look into where he came from and how this lifestyle affected his early life and choices. Coming from a family with no financial support or where he could grow up learning how to manage money in order to become a successful businessman, it is a very inspiring story of how Ace managed to end up where he is today.

Growing up in poverty and surrounded by bad examples and traumatic situations, Ace Bowers tells his story of a traumatic and difficult childhood and upbringing. He gives a step by step account of how he progressed and overcame each situation thrown his way, in a relatable way where you are left feeling not only familiar with the characters in the book but able to use his life lessons as examples and guidance. His baseball anecdotes provide a different, yet understandable explanation to many of the situations and at the same time show the reader that despite his differences with his parents, the lessons and tips he learnt from his own father in baseball, while not conventional fatherly advice or guidance, have proved invaluable and brought them closer in their relationship as well as giving Ace a family tradition to pass down to his own child.

Ace Bowers is able to transform his traumatic and destructive path into that of prosperity, wealth and health, by changing his mindset and staying dedicated to his goals in life, his determination in not repeating his parents mistakes and in providing the lifestyle he never had for his own children and wife. What is impressive is his positive and loving outlook towards his parents in spite of the traumatic events from his past, and how instead of holding onto negativity or resentment, he uses this love and positivity as an underlying, recurring aspect throughout his journey to provide the best for his own family.

Ace Bowers descriptive writing draws the reader in, allowing the reader to be present in the moment of each situation; an impressive skill which makes the book all the more interesting and definitely not one to be put down. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and how it was written. He is able to give an entertaining account of somewhat emotional and traumatic situations, where not only can you empathize with him but are left waiting for what happens next. Not only is The Mindset an inspiring read, but it is a relatable life story of the ups and downs one faces in growing up, giving an interesting outlook and positive message in how to create a better life for yourself in spite of what life might throw at you, or what challenges you have been through and/or may go through.

I give The Mindset by Ace Bowers four out of four stars and recommend it to adults, for an inspiring journey that will leave you motivated in progressing in your own life. The Mindset is well written and has no editing or grammatical errors, making it an easy and enjoyable read. This book is a must read for anyone needing inspiration or guidance in their own lives, as well as for anyone who has already found their path in life and are looking for an enjoyable memoir of a man creating himself from rock bottom into a successful family man, businessman and inspirational motivator.
