Born and raised in a poor family, Ace Bowers tells the tale of his life as it was. He had alcoholic parents who often fought, an older brother whose most life was spent in jail and an older sister who tried to shield him from his parents fighting and was always there for him in his childhood years. His childhood is tough to say the least, and he was forced to grow up at a really young age. Because of the situation back at home he learned to always have excuses incase his friends inquired anything about his home. He started smoking cigarettes at 16 years and at 18 years he was, uneducated, unemployed, in debt and addicted to cigarettes. His turning point, however, didn't happen until he was 22. He received news, and he realized he had to choose a better for his family or continue living in poverty.

The Mindset is a collection of memoirs of the authors' transformation from hopelessness to greatness. He openly shares all his experiences, the good, the bad and the ugly. Writing what I'm going through is therapeutic and I understand Ace Bowers when he says it was liberating to finally talk about his life. I imagined him sitting and reliving those memories, and I cried several times as I shared his emotions. I enjoyed that he is honest about all his experiences, what they taught him and how he felt about them all. This book is rich in emotions as it is with knowledge.

What I loved most is his appreciation for people that helped him through his journey. His family, his wife and even his friends. He genuinely refers to them as his 'Angels' as they saved him when he was in rock bottom. There is also the concept of forgiveness. Bowers forgave everyone in his past that caused him suffering, however bad it was. He also understands the consequences that led to the situation with his alcoholic parents. That is an impressive character.

This book won't teach you how to get rich but you'll realize that we all have the potential to be who we want to be. Ace Bowers became a billionaire but his journey was more about providing a better life for his family. He goes through a lot of changes and gets out of his comfort zone to achieve that. Even though he didn't finish school, he uses his strengths and achieves so much when he puts his mind to it.

This book is professionally edited and has no instances of profane language. There is no sexual content, and there was nothing that I disliked about the book. I therefore rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It is a motivational book that is appropriate for all readers.
