Review by Nerea -- Do I Need a Will or a Trust
The book Do I need a Will or a Trust by Taylor Philip Willingham is a legal manual instruction book that will help readers make better choices when creating a will or a trust. The book brilliantly compares and contrasts will and trust, providing credible facts about the two legal documents. But, what is a will and what is trust? How do you create them?
The book has three parts. Part one defines the legal terminologies including, will and trust. Part two expounds more on will and trust. Part three answers the question, why do you need a trust?
The author presented an educational and profound legal advice. He used a reassuring, tutoring, and insightful tone. Additionally, the narrative is voiced from the second-person and the third-person perspective. Moreover, the writing style is amazing. The language used is simple and non-complicated for the fact that the author did his best to simplify the legal language so that a broad percentage of readers can benefit from the book. The sentence structures are well-balanced. I didn’t find any run-on sentence or excessive use of either simple or complex sentences. There are no typos or errors detected.
The following are six reasons why you should read the book.
1. It states the benefits of a living trust.
2. It states and explains the tips and tricks to protect wealth from creditors and beneficiaries.
3. It identifies the measures one needs to consider when they want to create a trust.
4. Though it’s a non-fiction book, you won’t get bored because the author employed a way to entertain readers using funny memes found in the narrative.
5. It highlights the challenges attorneys experience when dealing with difficult clients regarding property ownership or transfer.
6. It gives the reason why some governments have passed the law to have properties earned during marriage to be passed on to children and not a spouse.
I find the part that talks about giving while still alive appealing because it gave me some interesting insights about how people manage their properties. Additionally, I liked the inclusion of charts and diagrams in the narrative that helps the reader to understand the whole concept of trust. Notably, the book highlights the mistakes people do when creating a will and trust.
I noted that there are people who decide to use their wealth to benefit their children while still alive so that when they die, the children won’t have to suffer. Therefore, wisdom is required to manage your wealth now in a way that will benefit the people you’ll leave behind upon death.
I’m pleased to learn that adopted children can inherit properties from their biological parents. This idea never crossed my mind.
Generally, the book is exceptionally edited. It’s profanity-free. There is a lot to learn from the book about will and trust. The book highlights the facts and benefits of these essential legal documents (will and trust), and the author did well to sensitize their significance, pointing out the mistakes that we need not repeat when creating the documents. I have nothing to dispute about the book, which is why I rate the book at 4 out of 4 stars.
I recommend the book to parents, couples (both young and old), lawyers, and attorneys.

I agree with you. Thanks for coming through.NetMassimo wrote: ↑12 Feb 2020, 07:35 The laws about those subjects are very different around the world, so this book wouldn't be useful for me if I needed to create a will or a trust. Surely it can be useful for Americans.
