Ace Bowers
The mindset
The book is an autobiography of the author who had a poor family background but later overcame it and became a successful multi millionaire. Ace was born in a family of three children and was the last child. He didn't have a nice upbringing because his parents were not only poor but also fought every night and this was mostly due to the type of challenges his mother faced as a child because she was molested by her own father when she was young but she was later saved by Ace father, her husband, who then was working as a Navy officer. Growing up was very hard on him because he witnessed his parent fought every evening after they got drunk.

Even as a young child, he built a wall round himself because he didn't want other kids at school to know of his upbringing. He was always the poorest kid at school who was always short on school supplies. When he got older,he started playing baseball which his father taught him and through that he started earning some money for himself and was able to live a bit of his life which he missed when he was a kid, he had a girlfriend and some friends and this made him happy because he could escape some of his parents fighting at home. Unfortunately, he couldn't attend college because his parent couldn't afford it, so he was devastated when all his friends and even his girlfriend left for college so he resorted to smoking and after some time it became worse he started smoking one pack every day. He later met his a girl called Yuka who he met went to live with his cousin. They later got married and she was his greatest support in every aspect of his life. The story shows the journey of Ace from being a kid with a poor background to becoming a multi millionaire.

The supporting characters of the book includes his wife, friends and parents. His wife Yuka is a Japanese and was a student when they met and they became friends before they later started dating. She was very supportive and she believed in him even when he didn't believe in himself, she helped him raise their kids and she was his rock and greatest supporter. His elder brother Billy who was not around for most of Ace's childhood because he was always in and out of jail before he was later sentenced to four years imprisonment, His sister was very supportive and would always calm and console him whenever their parents were fighting though she later left for college and he was alone with his parents. He had two close friends Anthony and Abe, who greatly to his childhood and they were friends during School before they got separated. His parents were not the best because of their fighting, his mother was a full housewife and took good care of them just that any time she drank she always fought with her husband and his dad was also a drinker though he never hit his wife.

What I liked most about the book was the author's mindset. He believed he could so anything as long as he set his mind to it. Though his childhood experiences affected some of his decisions in life but after he found out Yuka was pregnant, he decided he didn't want his children to go through what he went through as a kid so he started working hard, stopped smoking, lost weight and tried to become a better vision of himself. This became his motivation and he became a better version of his parents to his kids. What I dislike most is his mother character due to the fact that she let her childhood experiences influence her decision as a mother and this led to fighting everyday between her and her husband and also had negative effects on Ace and his older siblings.

I think the book will be ideal for those who are struggling with making decisions in life because the book will help them develop strong mindset on how to be focused and determined. The book should also be read by everyone who had or have parents who are always fighting because it will help them live above it and not let their upbringing affect important decision making in life. The book is also good for those who had poor upbringing because it will help them develop strong mindset and have a determined attitude that no matter what they are going through the future is bright and they will live above it. It is also ideal to those who are smokers and overweight and want to change, it all about the mindset and if they set their heart to it they can do it, like Ace who quit smoking and lost 85kg in four months .

I rate the book 4 out of 4 . This is because the book is professionally edited and there was no use of vulgar words. The book is one of the best books I have read because it opens the reader's mindset on how to achieve anything they set their heart to,all that is needed is the right motivation. With the right motivation nothing is unachievable just like how Ace from being a Janitor earning minimum wage became a multi millionaire in just five years.
