I rate this book Fearless Thinking, Stress-free living, Guaranteed (Almost) by Purandar A. Amin 2 out of 4 stars. It was almost impossible to follow and most of it did not make any sense to me. I felt like you would have to be stoned or something to understand it! There were so many errors that I was a little shocked when I got to number ten in my list and still found more. In the end, this book left me with a migraine headache.
This is listed as a non-fiction book and is supposed to be a self-help book of sorts. The gist of what Purandar is writing about is a change in your own attitude and thought processes. He gives advice and exercises on how to be more observant of what you are thinking, feeling, and experiencing. He encourages you to just accept everything as it is, without expectations, which will in turn eliminate your stress. You will have to learn new definitions for words you are already familiar with, and figure out how to put all the concepts together like a puzzle to complete a whole picture.
What I liked best about this book was that some of the concepts were familiar. I have read other self-help books with similarities. The space included in the book to use as a work-book could be useful, as I have found to be true in other books of this nature. There is also a board game that I recommend, made by Family Pastimes Co-operative Games, called Community in which you can earn positive or negative emotions, and help to eliminate them in yourself and others. What really stood out the most was the idea that every reality in the universe was once just a thought.
What I did not like about this book was the emphasis on energies. If all you need is thinking with positive energy to resolve all negativity, then people would be cured of chronic pain and cancers. This in simply unrealistic! There is also the suggestion your soul is a living thing like an alien living in your body which you can physically feel, which to me sounds creepy. And lastly, I did not like the thought of going into the light and feeling electricity moving through every orifice of my body.
This book is definitely geared to religious people. As an atheist, I perceived he feels superior and talks down to non-believers. His attitude seems to be, “If you choose to believe that way, that is your problem and not mine. Everything happens for a reason, so just go with the flow because you don’t know what you are talking about. Life is already chosen for you.” Also, he believes in reincarnation and states your positive or negative energies will follow you throughout every life time. I am pretty sure that my experience with this book was the polar opposite of what was intended.
