I just finished reading, Letters to Sis by CW3 Cesare Giannetti, US Army (Ret). I am giving this book 3 out of 4 stars. This is a heartfelt and warm story. The love remembered in this book is beautiful to see and I feel a kinship with the author Cesare Giannetti, after losing my sister many years ago suddenly. I am happy to see such lovely memories shared.

The book 'Letters to sis,' is wonderfully written and edited. The reason I gave this book 3 out of 4 stars is due to the writing style. While the memories shared are loving and nurturing and should be remembered with a smile the writing style itself is very straightforward almost cold. I would love to see a little more sarcasm and humor in the writing. It has great potential its just a little too clean. While you can read the emotion and imagine it, you can't feel it.

Letters to sis is very straightforward with little passion in the wording and writing style. You can tell it's written by someone with a lot of structure to their life. I loved how sharing pictures of the family was in the book, perhaps adding in actual pictures of the letters at each chapter where you write to her would enhance it a bit more as well as adding a little flair to the words. Every story ever told was embellished at times.

I feel, overall, that this book is very well written and a lot of time and thought went into the writing. What I liked most was the very personal story this author Cesare Giannetti decided to share with the world. The thing that I disliked most about this book is very dry, straightforward style of writing.

This book is a story of sharing, love, pain, loss, and recognizing strength. The closeness of the relationship between the author and his sister is beautiful and should be remembered by all. The family dynamic and how friendships and families change over time is one that we can all relate to on a daily basis and it is nice to know another soul out there shares the same experiences that we all do.
