The Mindset by Ace Bowers is a tragic yet inspiring autobiography. In initial pages itself the phrases he has written for his wife Yuka, his first child Noah, and his second child Ariel are symbolic about how much he has gone through and yet now he somehow managed to be a happy family person. I shall recommend this specifically to people who might be feeling downtrodden in their life or are questioning their existence, or the worst have lost all their will to live. In general it is a good book to spirit up your morale.

Ace is very much direct in his writings, yet one can feel what he is trying to draw out. I must say when I started reading, I felt Ace as one of those complaining people who tend to grab any point to remember their hardships in past. But, as the pages went by, I could really feel his sorrow, his dark childhood that he had to go through, yet how he managed to survive. There was a point where he succumbed to life's pressure and was about to give up, yet Noah(as the name suggests) came as a saviour in his life. The situation he was in, having a child was indeed a very big deal. Yet, it was only his instincts that drove him through. Unnecessary to mention the innumerable hardships and his strong determination were basically his mantra throughout his life.

One of the major thing I liked about this book is that the author maintains his notion of his life in his autobiography too. He had been complacent in his life which you can easily cherish through his writing. I imagined this book to be money oriented owing to that cliche phrase in the beginning 'from Janitor to Silicon Valley Millionaire in five years', yet believe me it was nothing about being materialistic. As a child he grew with his yearnings for family love, which he fulfilled dearly as a fully grown father.

The last few chapters which deals with confrontations are very tender and emotional. The author was always a man of relations. However, it was only after he was accepted by his beloved wife Yuka he knew appropriately what should be his priorities. They both have displayed how to face every situation head on. I must point out I have grown lot of respect for his wife over the timeline of this book.

I must give this book 4 out of 4 for being so good. Regarding grammatical mistakes I could find only one. So I would let the bar low for giving me such a good read.
