Tavel identifies the myths Irelating the health issues and gives tools and tips to recognise them and stop their flourishing trend in the society. This book is a practical advice to make us aware of dangerous and useless information and products around us.These pave the way in emptying our pockets quite willingly.

Morton E. Tavel addresses Obesity as the most common health problem in U.S.A.He gives simple formula to know wether we are over-weight or under-weight.According to him the causes of obesity are sugar, sugary beverages, restaurants near homes and school trips to fast food restaurants. He gives an in -expensive and harmless remedy for the control of weight. It is simple drinking of plain water,as it reduces hunger and gives sense of fullness. Not to skip breakfast, cut down sugar and sodium from daily diet and increase the intake of vegetables and fruits are his strong recommendations. The advantages and disadvantages of juices ,nuts, fish ,chocolates, artificial sweeteners are well discussed. He gives the list of those nefarious foods which must be avoided. His deep concern is quite obvious from this book about dietery supplements, cigarette smoking and quantity and quality of sleep. He creats general awareness against the myths about cancer, cell phones, bottled water and HIV infections.More interesting facts and figures awaits the readers.

Dr Tavel's medical reseach includes 120 publications, editorials and book reviews. As far as this book is concerned, for the ease of the reader he has divided it into three sections. There are ten chapter's on Tricks, twenty chapters in Myths and twenty five chapter's on Tips. The author has tried his best for the reader,to grasp his or her piece of information as easily as possible. He prescribes and rejects pain killers, weight reducing supplements with authenticity .Pooled researches and quantitative pooled surveys are helpful for the readers to understand.Everyone can find something from this book ,relating to his or her health issues.

I like this well of information as a whole.I liked the statement of the author given to change tastes and habits"If your day is less fun, your future has a chance to be much more secure and probably substantially longer".I liked the caption of twenty nineth chapter that is"sleep nice ,or pay the price".The myth about HIV infections was mentioned but not discussed, this was what I didn't like. The book was well edited.Extra care was taken in writting medical terminology.I couldn't find any typo's or grammatical mistake. The book speaks of itself.l am happy to award "Health Tips,Myths and aTricks",4 out of 4 stars.
People who are conscious and concerned about their health must read it.I don't recomend for those ,who stick to their habits and routine.

I always have to wonder - if my days are less fun, why would I want my future to be substantially longer? That does not mean that the advice in this book isn't good, but just that I don't believe that living longer, in and of itself, should be the entire goal of a life.
