The novel Health Tips, Myths and Tricks by Morton E. Tavel, MD is a non-fictional novel. The book canvasses the tips on how to stay healthy and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The author asserts that our health is dependent on the type of foods that we consume. It is what we consume that enters into our bloodstream. The consumption of junk foods is on the rise and this is a worrying trend considering that junk foods possess a risk to our health. The author highlights the effects of the so-called junk foods including obesity and cardiovascular diseases. The author encourages the readers to refrain from junk foods and focus on natural foods like fruits and vegetables. Moreover, he encourages people to maintain a healthy lifestyle by engaging in regular exercise, having enough sleep and avoid the rash of taking medicine in cases of minor infection.

I loved the manner in which this novel creates awareness in the society on the effects of junk foods, and the diseases associated thereto.for instance, trans fats raises an individual chances of contracting cardiovascular diseases. Moreover, the author highlights the cardiovascular diseases like hypertension and stroke and their effects on the normal functioning of the body. The author uses simple language to create the nexus between the foods consumed and disease that arises therefrom that makes it possible for every reader to understand.

Another aspect I loved in the novel is the author's assertion that people should embrace healthy lifestyle methods like regular exercises and getting enough sleep lest you pay the price. Exercise and sleep cost nothing yet is vital to our living. For instance, the quality of your sleep affects the quality of your productivity, sharpness, creativity and even weight. The sane is applicable to regular exercises that helps in burning excess calories in the body. I loved the assertion that everybody could afford to engage in this vital activity since they cost nothing. Adequate sleep and exercise are thus desirable for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

This novel is exceptionally well edited and has no typographical errors. Even the medical terms appeared to have been well written even though I was uncertain about their spellings. I rate the novel at 4 out of 4 stars. There is nothing I disliked in this novel. The novel has a compel storyline and encourages readers to pursue a healthy lifestyle. That was excellent.

I highly recommend the novel to all persons regardless of their area of interests. Health matters concern all of us and should not be restricted to a group of persons. Theres a lot of inspiration to the readers who are in pursuit of a healthy living. Though the road to healthy living seems hectic, it is worth it. The author wants people to stay healthy by eating natural foods and engage themselves in regular exercise.
