This book review is for a book called Who told you that you were naked? It was written by William Combs; a retired Presbyterian minister. He also has a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary.

The story starts in the Garden of Eden. The author paints a beautiful picture of the life of Adam before Eve was created. This is something I personally never thought about before. One tends to think that there was no time delay between the creation of Adam and Eve. He also portrays Adam as a super intelligent being for naming all the animals and plants.

The book has ten chapters and the first four chapters are mainly the story of the garden and the consequence of eating the forbidden fruit. The author tells the story in such a way that one can relate to everything Adam, Eve and their children experienced. Thereafter the scene moves to different books of the Bible to illustrate the point the author is trying to make.

Pieces of scripture are quoted in various places. This makes it a lot easier to read as supposed to put down the book and look the pieces of scripture up. In some instances, the author also elaborated into what he thinks the circumstances were.

Throughout the book, personal experiences from the author or his wife are used to demonstrate a point he tries to make. These were very helpful in understanding the whole concept in practical terms even though some of the experiences seemed a bit farfetched.

At the end of each chapter, there were questions one could think over or debate about. Personally, I did not care for this as it gives the book a feel of a textbook that one has to study.

I think people who do not have a very strong biblical opinion of their own; but are still interested in Christianity or religion for that matter; will find this book very interesting. It gives a good background for someone who is not familiar with the topic.

It seemed as if the book was professionally edited and proofread. I could not find any grammar or spelling mistakes.

In conclusion, I will rate the book 3 out of 4 stars. The reason for this rating is that the book did not flow easily between the different chapters which made it a bit difficult to read and to follow. After reading the book my concept from where sin comes from has not changed.
