Health Tips, Myths, and Tricks is a book written by Morton E. Tavel, a medical doctor. The book has 3 sections. In the first section, the author gives tips about health. These tips are mostly about food. The author discusses green tea, chocolate, fish and trans fats among other topics. The second one is about the common myths that most people believe about food and health. In this section, the author highlights some critical issues. He mentions the topic of stretching after exercise, and he talks about whether or not it’s a myth. The author also talks about gluten-free diets, bottled water, painkillers, probiotics and other topics.

The third section is about tricks. The author talks about the tricks that con artists use to deceive people into buying products that aren’t essential for good health. If you’ve fallen for the snake oil myth, this book will give you information on what’s real and what’s not. The book has some short reviews from health experts who verify that the author’s information is useful.

This book has essential information. The lessons that the author stresses on in the book are enjoyable to learn. Reading about things that I believe are facts about health and realizing that they are myths is fascinating and mind-blowing for me. The author adds some humor into the book which makes it even more exciting to read. I have taken a lot of notes, and I have learned a lot of things which is what I like most about the book. The writer of the book is a physician, and that is why I believe every word he says. The reviews from other health experts also help to validate the author’s information.

There isn’t much to dislike about this book. Every part of it is helpful and captivating. There are no grammatical errors, and the book seems to have been edited by a professional editor.

The book has useful and captivating facts about health. Anyone who takes their time to read even one chapter of this book will gain a lot of knowledge. I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend it to any person who is old enough to understand the information in this book. Most people above 12 years will appreciate the information provided, and hopefully, they will use it to better their health and lifestyles. This book is essential for healthy living.

I think we should all take responsibility for our own health and I'm all for any books that empower readers through information to do so. There are so many misconceptions and myths surrounding health issues that it can be confusing. he fact that the author adds a bit of humor is a huge plus for me!
Thank you!

The fact that the book was authored by a doctor is assuring. I think i will enjoy the Myths section because indeed tradition has hooked us to some bizzare and useless habits.Your review has really picked my curiosity ,will add this book to my bookshelf. Thanks for such an informative review Hayley.

I'm not a fan of these types of books especially since while the author is a medical doctor, he has no real training in nutrition. Those I found with no real training only use the nutrition angle because it's a lucrative topic.

Your review is generous to a fault in being fair to tge author. Great job.

Based on your review I’m going to add this book to my “to read” shelf. I look forward to finding out if I’ve fallen for any food myths!
