This review really sparked my interest in the book. The way it blends real-life accounts with cultural and ethical reflections makes it sound much deeper than just a book on the paranormal. I’m curious now about how it challenges our understanding of the unseen.

Congrats on BOTD.
"On Spirits," written by Dr. Joseph M. Feagan, explores the transcendent realm and its presence. This documentary is going to be fascinating to see how the doctor and cameraman visited with a variety of folks and talked about matters of faith.

I have always found fascinating these kind of stories about spirits and have enjoyed reading them. I must admit I always look at them with some excepticism, but I also believe there must be something else out there that we just can't see yet. It certainly sounds like a fascinating book and a point of view I would enjoy reading.

A book on spirits that shares real accounts? That’s fascinating and honestly a little scary. The part about spirits helping with infertility caught my attention. I'm also curious about how else spirits are interacted with. Congrats on BOTD!

Great review. I believe in The Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit but you have spiked my curiosity. I’d be curious to see how Dr. Feagan explains spirits in relation to religion. So I will be reading a copy of this intriguing book soon especially since it is free on Amazon Kindle Unlimited. Congratulations to the author for BOTD.

Having read only the sample of this book so far,I must admit that the lengths taken by the author to engage with this matter, travelling to various countries, interacting with numerous religious practitioners such as shamans and priests, and going above and beyond to obtain a concrete scientific method in support of his claims, are certainly admirable. His assertion that there exists a spiritual realm where conscious, sentient beings live unseen, yet are able to associate with and influence the corporeal world, is very persuasive. However, I'm not convinced that making the particular effort of scientifically studying these spirits with the aim of possibly engaging with them on a broader scale than what is currently the case, holds any worthwhile benefits for humanity at large.
The anecdote mentioned by the reviewer where a shaman describes the bargain they felt pressured to make with one of these beings in order to save their mother's life, jeopardising the well-being of other patients, is really troubling. It reveals these spirits potentially have their own agendas and intentions that humans cannot even begin to guess at, and mysterious and coercive ways of accomplishing those ends. So, with interactions such as these, who truly holds the power? The entity, or the human granted access to its peculiar abilities? Such unsettling reflections, in my admittedly inexpert opinion, should dampen the eagerness to attempt harnessing the powers of these creatures for human use. Fraternising within this realm seems like a dangerous endeavor with unimaginable implications for every aspect of human life as we know it, should dabbling in these practices become accessible to the general population. On spirits, is quite intriguing, though, so my views about this topic are likely to change after reading the book in its entirety.

This review really pulled me in. The way you described the stories—especially the masseur helping women with fertility—felt so powerful and personal. It’s fascinating to think spirits might play such a role in healing and transformation. I also appreciated how you didn’t shy away from the ethical concerns, like the deal made by the espiritista. That part made me pause and reflect on what it really means to hold spiritual power. Thank you for giving such a thoughtful overview of the book—it sounds much deeper than I expected, and now I’m genuinely curious to read it myself. I have added the book to my shelf to read later.

I am amazed by your detailed assessment of this book. I wish scientists can be open enough to investigate the existence of spirits and their impact on our planet and on us as humans. Personally, I have been skeptical on the issues of spirits and have often dismissed them as mere legends. But we all deserve to know the truth. You did a great job highlighting the witnesses and incidents documented in this book.

The spiritual realm has always been a mystery to many. I am intrigued when I learn of individuals who have interacted with otherworldly beings or who experience bizarre happenings that could only be linked to the supernatural. 'On Spirits' by Dr. Joseph M. Feagan has piqued my interest, and I want to express my sincere appreciation for your engaging review.

Great review! I have always been fascinated by spirits and the spiritual world. I have had many situations present themselves where spirits have shown their presence to me and my family. This will be an interesting book to read, and I intend to do just that.

I really admire the author's curiosity and dedication to exploring such a complex and often misunderstood topic. While this isn’t a subject I’m currently focused on, it definitely caught my attention, and I’ll be adding it to my list. Congrats on BOTD
