Thankfully I have never been in a relationship with a narcissist, but I can imagine it will cause emotional harm and long-lasting damage. For those suspecting they may be involved with someone inflicted by narcissism, this book sounds like a lifesaver. The constant need for praise and manipulation can be attributed to many individuals. The same goes for twisting the truth. It will be interesting to read how to identify a narcissist and how to deal with those people. Thank you for your informative review.

This book will be resourceful in identifying and navigating the complexities of a relationship with a narcissistic partner. Many individuals in such relationships often remain in denial for an extended period before acknowledging the problem. Thank you for your informative review.

As someone who grew up with a single parent and that single parent being a narcissist, I won't be able to read this particular book. It does indeed take a lifetime--when you're born into a household such as this--to figure out you are not the one at fault, you are not a bad seed, you are not in everyone's way, you are not a loser. I could not even imagine what a person goes through when it's their partner treating them like this. Worse still, to have children while in a relationship like this. With such a thorough and beautiful job done here with this review, and as rampant as 'narcissism' has turned out to be, I would certainly recommend reading this if you have any relationship in your life that makes you feel "less than" at any point. Be aware, and take care of you.

Love is an incredible and powerful emotion, so is hate. But hate and love are not opposites, instead indifference is. When you stop caring, thinking, worrying… that’s when everything is over. Sometimes, is even worse, sometimes love never grows because the person you love has always been indifferent.

Vicki Mills' novel, The Opposite of Love, delves into the intricate nature of relationships, the journey of self-discovery, and the process of healing following emotional turmoil. The narrative centers on a main character who grapples with the fallout of a broken heart, pondering the true essence of love and realizing that the true opposite of love is not animosity, but rather apathy. Through evocative storytelling, Mills explores themes of openness, reconciliation, and the bravery necessary to embrace love once more. Featuring relatable characters and a thoughtful narrative, the book conveys a compelling message about tenacity and the human ability to evolve despite emotional hardships.
