Wow! That was the first word that came to my mind, after completing this novel. I feel really unhappy that this book had to end, because the thrill, this book gave to me while reading it, was something, I least expected.
Akira Hamadan, a beautiful geiko from Japan and a well-trained assassin, having failed at a mission two years ago, was sent by her boss, mitsui-san on a cruise ship to find the killer of his sister. she was given a clear mission to eliminate Sara Lyon, and Paul Lyon and then after, gain her freedom. However, the youthful and mystery solving side of hers, forced her to seek out the killer before abrogating them and Devon Lyon, was her sorry victim.
Devon Lyon, a British young man who accompanied his uncle Paul Lyon, a British gallery owner, and his wife Sara Lyon, to a Caribbean vacation on a mission to amend the broken relationship between him and his uncle. Little did he know, that the life of his uncle and aunt, were both at stake and the very person, he invited into his home was going to be responsible for their death, and also, little did he expect to find the one thing that he craved for, Love.
In her book, twisted threads, Kaylin begins the book with a poem written by her, which is an important detail in the book, as it practically sums up the book, and I found that very unique about the book. Also the fact that the whole duration of the plot was ten days, and yet, it was written with such clarity and technicality, left me amazed. The book was also written with different characters in perspective, and it made the book easier to understand. The book has so many twists and turns as the title states, that it is difficult to actually predict the end, and I absolutely found that exciting.
Twisted threads is a thrilling experience of romance and action, which has the reader hooked up, page by page, and chapter by chapter. It also shows a unique sense of loyalty displayed by Akira, to the yakuza family, as she had to choose between her mission and love. I loved the way Akira was displayed in many dimensions. A kind, caring, naive girl, capable of love and yet, a cold ruthless assassin. It also has erotic scenes, which keeps you at edge.
It might look as if I am giving this book too much credit, but it is undeniable, that Kaylin is an amazing writer and I would absolutely rate, twisted threads a 4 out of 4 stars. The editing was perfect, and I did not find any errors at all. Although I would not recommend this book to anyone who has issues with bloodshed, and also to a very young reader, because the erotic scenes can be a bit disturbing. I would totally recommend this book to any young adult and adults alike who loves thriller novels. Without further much ado, read away friends. You will surely thank me later for this.
