The Cartel Crusher is a fictional story of Marnia, the daughter of a former president of Mexico, who decided to change her path in life after she was inspired by the act of the “hero of Cozumel”, in which she was saved from rape and death in the hands of a notorious cartel thug during her birthday party. She decided to become a military officer with the intention of crushing every cartel in the country. This book is so interesting and simple to read that I recommend it to anyone who likes to read novels, even people who do not fancy action books would find this one interesting.
The Cartel Crusher is action packed, there is not a single dull moment because the story-line is straight forward and there are no boring side stories about military jargon or cartel modus operandi. This book is so inspirational. It exposes loop holes in politics and military; revealing how government officials and military officers collaborate with criminals.
The book is a page turner, I was held in so much suspense that it was difficult to drop the book sometimes to do other things. The author has this special skill of giving short and precise description of events such that the reader gets emotionally attached to the story. At a point, I even got scared for Marnia and her mother. I initially thought that the book title was childish, but the justification for the title was revealed during Marnia’s speech at her mother’s funeral. This book has everything to be recognized as a best seller. It is so captivating.
The first time Jonathan was introduced into the story, I correctly predicted that he will have a romantic relationship with Marnia. At that point, he and Marnia had not even crossed paths at all. However, their partnership along with Rohos was vital in the story as their teamwork was necessary in the attempt to bring down the Santiago cartel. So my prediction, though correct, cannot count against the author. I also correctly predicted that Pedro Guerra killed his brother. These correct predictions should be a sign to the author that readers have encountered such scenarios in other books. Thus, the author should seek for uniqueness in his stories. I like the end of the book, it is a puzzle left to the reader to figure out.
I give The Cartel Crusher a 4 out of 4 stars rating. This is because of the author’s special style of carrying just any kind of reader along in the story. Every part of the book has activity, so the reader is always eager to know what comes up next. I noticed two typographical errors and one grammatical error in the book.
