You, The People by Pablo Digenio is a collection of six short stories, I am going to give you a glimpse inside each one. Rebecca Asptue Do it Yourself, a story about a young women working as the head of a corporate business. Rebecca is perfect for this role she is a perfectionist, cold, and mean, she doesn't care who she hurts. Alfred Dietez Russian Waltz, is a story about an 87 year old man named Alfred and his long-time companion Blondie his dog. Alfred is excited about the impending visit from his family, not all goes as planned and the sins that he has once committed come back to haunt him. Gary Haits Number Thirteen, a man who was betrayed by someone he once trusted. Now Gary is trying to fill that void and stop his anger but will it work? Mike Notsew The Game of Redemption, Mike is not a nice man and he never claims to be, his only concern in life is money, beer, and women however he can get them. Mike is given the chance to make all his dreams come true but his greed may get in the way. Johnny Fiendin The Dream Life, Johnny hasn't accomplished much in his short life he works to make ends meet but his true passions lie in his video games. When Johnny is given the chance to escape reality he may end up regretting his decision. Teresa Egrette Three A.M., Teresa wakes up in a horrible place unaware of how she got there or what had happened. When she tries to escape she ends up in another nightmare possibly worse. Teresa doesn't know what is happening but soon she will find out.

Why did I choose to read You, The People? When I saw this book I wasn’t looking for a book of short stories, I have never been much of a fan but for some reason I was drawn to this book. The description appealed to me because I love horror stories and when it said, “Read at your own risk. The truth is not for the faint of heart.” I’m not sure it just sounded perfect for me I love stories that test the limits of morals and this does just that.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this book, not much can make me question what is wrong with this author; I have read some things that while your reading you feel wrong for reading it. This collection of short stories was just wow. I loved the complexity of these stories the rawness. Pablo Digenio is a fantastic author he has a true taste for questionable things. This book pushes limits and shows you how fragile the human life is. I think my favourite story in this collection was Three A.M. at first I really had no idea what was going on and as it progressed I was still unsure and when I finally realized what Teresa Egrette was facing I was almost excited as bad as that sounds. I really enjoyed this collection.

Reading all these stories I think there was only one I didn’t enjoy not because of the writing but it just wasn’t my cup of tea I guess. The theme in that particular story which I won’t name because I don’t want you to prejudge you may love it, just wasn’t for me a bit too dark maybe. I didn’t feel anything for the character or feel good or bad about what this character was doing. Lie reading a novel there are always a few characters you don’t click with and I think that is why I didn't like it.

I am going to give You, The People by Pablo Digenio 3 stars out of 4. I only remove one star because even though there was a short story I didn’t enjoy I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of them. I was very surprised how much I like this collection, reading it was easy for me I wanted to know what would happen next and what the next story would bring. If you don’t like questionable morals and all together bad people I wouldn’t recommend this book to you but if you are all for that sort of thing it is amazing. I tend to gravitate towards stories that aren’t normal or “good” I like the ones that make you think and wonder. This collection makes you think about all of the things you have done in your life and shows you how your actions defiantly do come back at you and you may think you know what will happen but you could very well be wrong.

Wonderful collection three out of four stars I would read this again in a heartbeat.
