Family Business by J.J. Frauser opens at a party in Sicily, Italy. One of the party's hosts makes a phone call, and Alexandros Krepstatikis is kidnapped just outside Athens, Greece. He is taken to his app development company, Teracode, where he is told to upload several client files.

The main character in this story is J.J. His job is to fight terrorism and organized crime worldwide. He has a receptionist named Missy. He works on a team that also includes Jasper, Rob Fitzroy, Greta Luggart, and Jan Rodent. Deputy Director Craig Willow oversees the team. CEO George Schubert is Craig's boss. The team's job is to uncover a major network that works in drug trafficking, human trafficking, and money laundering. England's former Prime Minister Maxwell, the German Chancellor, and former White House and U.S. State Department employee Carmilla Reese have spotted the network. Sketchy information about the network has come from Bundesnachrichtendienst, better known as BND. This group is similar to America's FBI.

J.J. lives with his mother, brother, Rob, and Rob's wife, Ann, in London's Long Meadow neighborhood. During the story, the reader is also introduced to another brother and a cousin.

The team makes some wrong assumptions, which causes them to almost blow the case. In addition, there may be a mole within the group. The mole may be working with high-powered White House officials, who are currently fighting for their person elected president during the COVID pandemic.

The author uses acronyms that the reader may not be familiar with, without defining them. In some cases, I do not believe that the author uses the correct acronym. For instance, he says MP, which normally stands for military police, but in the next sentence, says it has nothing to do with the military or other law enforcement organizations.

This book took me much longer to read than it should have because of the numerous grammar mistakes. The author's sentences do not flow together smoothly. There are misspelled words, poor hyphenation, incorrect word usage, and wrong or missing apostrophes.

This book needs a better story line. Some of the team's actions are unbelievable. For instance, J.J. often puts on sunglasses and maybe a hat to disguise himself when working undercover.

The author includes song titles to go with the story. I did not find these titles helpful at all.

I rate this book a 2 out of 5 because of the grammar errors, inappropriate acronym usage, irrelevant songs, and wrong actions. I also feel that some of the characters were irrelevant to the story. While the book does discuss religion, it is done in a way that no one should find offensive. There is non-borderline profanity in this book. There is also a little sexual content. If you are a person who can ignore this book's grammar errors and like crime stories, then this book may be perfect for you.
