While checking out the review options, I came across a book called Even The Pandemic Can’t Stop Love And Murder. Love and murder? What was this book about? This title seemed weird but eye-catching, and I felt like I could not stay in peace without reviewing it. This book is part of a series called Paying The Price, written by A.E.S. O'Neill. However, this review applies only to Even The Pandemic Can’t Stop Love And Murder, not to other books of the series.

This book takes us back to the pandemic era when the world was put under a strict lockdown. In the year 2020, Alby, an American citizen, was working in Iraq. However, things suddenly went south, and he had to leave the country. Now, back in the USA, he was instructed to lie low and not attract attention to himself. However, he was poor, and he needed money. So, he decided to take up new work. Everything seemed to be going well. Will things continue to go well? Or will God have other plans? What will happen to the new life Alby was planning?

What I loved the most about this book are its characters. Every character has its own character growth, journeys, strengths, weaknesses, etc. The character I liked the most was Jagger. Despite being the main villain, he was given enough space to blossom as a character. I loved the idea of a person knowing his answers just from facial features and expressions. Since he was given such space, he grew to be such a great villain.

The book kept me on the edge of my seat, making me wonder what would happen next. There was never a dull moment with this book. Lovers of the thriller genre would love this book.

A lot of profanities were used in this book. Besides this, the story is so developed that I don’t think kids would understand how brilliant this book is. However, there are no sexual scenes in the book except for some on-page kissing and dancing. I think ages starting from older teenagers can enjoy this book. However, the book does feature a lot of homicides. That could be a trigger warning for some people and should be remembered before this book is selected.

This book is brilliant, and I loved everything about this book. I happily give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Come along, grab a copy, and enjoy this book as I did.

Hi, Kshitija. I enjoyed reading your upbeat review! You have piqued my interest in this story. I trust that if you enjoyed this story, I will too. How does Alby cope with the villain, Jagger? I am adding this thriller to my want to read list. Thank you!

This is the first time I've heard of this book, so thank you for introducing it to me. It sounds like an entertaining story, and I like to see the pandemic as the back story in new fiction. I'm adding this one to my list. Thanks.

Kshitija! Thank you for your review!

The suspense is killing me! I must know if he ended up with Covid-19 and how this might relate to the title of the book!

This sounds like a fun book to read. I'll consider checking it out.

Thanks!

I am an avid reader. I typically read 1-2 books per week. I enjoy a wide array of genres including Sci Fi, Action/Thriller, and Historical Fiction.

As a geologist and christian, I also particularly enjoy books on science and faith.

Such a eerie title that you had to pick it up and give it a read! Hah! :lol2:
It was rather unusual for me when I compared the title to the content in your review. It brought back a lot of memories from the lockdown period and I thought the book was going to be about something else. But your description left a cliffhanger. (I spy a writer :shifty: )
It was carefully written and thoughtful in every word. Well done! I'll be reading more of them. (Your reviews)

A great reviewwl. Loved your optimistic tone. I am curious now. How does the pandemic affect the storyline? How did the author connect both love and murder?

I will probably give this book a try. I appreciate the trigger warnings. Great job.

Seems to me like an amazing book! You seem so excited about it, and I must say your enthusiasm is infectious, especially your praise for the villain character, Jagger. I suspect things don’t generally progress peacefully for Alby. Thanks for the well-described review; maybe I’ll give this book a chance someday!

I did not find much correlation though, maybe the fact that there was unemployment all around? Maybe. You can read and tell :D
