Crimeline Hollywood by Thomas Collins starts off with a very chaotic scene where the main character an astrologer who had somehow found himself in trouble with a powerful casino owner, Milo, is being chased by a hitman, but he manages to escape. After that, he does what any reasonable person in this situation would do—fall off the grid with a new identity and abandon his luxurious life in Hollywood. Now Dash thought he had finally escaped Milo, but, no, he did not, which he realized when his most famous client and friend, Sparklynn James, went missing.

Dash, who originally is an astrologer, steps into his P. I hear as he is called to help find Sparklynn, who leaves a message for her family full of codes, hoping someone notices. Dash does, and he is paired up with Rebecca, a Hollywood P.I. who is more concerned with her public image than solving crime, and together they decode the message and follow the trail. Who took Sparklynn and why? Will they find Sparklynn? Will Milo catch up with Dash? Well, I guess we just find out.

My likes? The suspense, mystery, and humor packed into this book make it a very interesting read. Think code cracking, fake identities, life-threatening conditions, vivid descriptions, and lots more. A personal highlight from this book is the scenes where Dash and Rebecca bicker over any little detail. Despite all the chaos and challenges, they still found time to throw sarcastic remarks at each other. It was definitely entertaining!

My dislikes? There is nothing to dislike about this book. Thomas Collins's writing style is very refreshing and exceptional, leaving readers at the edge of their seats at the end of each page. The plot is excellent and well-paced, and the characters are well-developed.

I rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars because, why not? It is a thrilling blend of suspense, action, and humor with an entertaining twist for fans of mystery, suspense, and humor. This book was well edited, but I noticed a few grammatical errors, which brings the editing into question, but that does not affect my ratings. This is one book I would enjoy reading again; I couldn’t even put the book down for a second. I must say the author did a great job with this one. I would recommend this book to people who love a good thriller book.
