When an unexpected accident occurs, Reverend Sounders finds Chrissy asleep in her car. It is clear that the girl has been in an accident. He escorts her back to town, where he helps her find accommodation until her car is fixed. Chrissy is on the run and has the fear of being trailed by higher authorities and has no choice but to change her appearance so that no one recognizes her. But there is something very familiar about the town she has landed in; she has never been there before, yet the people in the town seem to be familiar to her, and she can't help but wonder whether she and her family had passed through the town on one of their journeys when she was little. Yet although the town and its people are filled with kindness and warmth, something is not right. Every time she tries to leave, she finds herself back in the town. Will she be able to get out of the town known as Tuoyawon? Will she be able to confess to the townspeople that she may be unknowingly involved with the man who has scammed them for money? How will she deal with the new-found truth of this scandal? Follow her on her journey of despair as she struggles to make sense of her surroundings and comes to terms that the man she once fancied may be the one responsible for the financial loss of the townspeople.

Tuoyawon written by R. Murrey Haist is a fantastic thriller. The story begins with the main character Chrissy meeting with an accident and landing herself in a small town and thereafter follows with multiple flashbacks of Chrissy's life, which gives us a better understanding of who she was before the incident that changed her life as well as what led to her being on the run.

I thoroughly enjoyed the character of Chrissy. I loved the way the author has portrayed Chrissy to be someone who is anxious and fearful all the time but also has a great deal of determination. The fact that she is willing to tell the truth to the townspeople shows a great deal of courage as well.

Although the book was intriguing to read, the book is a bit short, and I would have loved to read a bit more before the unexpected twist at the end. I did encounter a few errors while reading; hence, I rate it a 4 out of 5.

The book contains mystery all around, feelings of despair, and a lot of uncertainty. It is one recommended to both young and old readers looking to read a good thriller.
